I got a $279 insignia, i am quite satisfied with what i bought however i now know what you mean by "blinding whites" in the opening scene of blazblue there are segments where i can't really see the characters very well due to a white background, so how do i calibrate it?

i appreciate and i am thankful for your help =D

What size screen did you get? just wondering

There's some free calibration tools out on the net. The ones I use are from the AVS Forums, which are really nice. You just place them on a USB drive and run them through your PS3 (They're AVCHD videos.) I can upload them for you if want them.

that would be fantastic, thank you very much

No problem. I'll try to get them to you in a few, but if not, it would be later tonight since I would have to upload the files from my own PC.

In the meantime, I recommend just lowering the Contrast a few notches until you can see more detail.

I went through the video, i think i got the gist of it though i got totally confused when the colors started appearing, it did not have an instruction on what to do there

Sorry about that. Those are a bit advanced (You need blue tinted glasses, unless your TV has a Blue mode.) and sometimes requires professional tools that hook up to your TV. So no need to worry about those right now.

For the most part, your TV should be okay color wise, even if it's not completely accurate.

Indeed they do. My Samsung, and I believe all new Samsungs from 2009 and up have it. It's a handy feature to properly calibrate Tint and Color.
