I was only describing the types of forums I have visited.I've visited religious forums,sports forums,chess forums.I didn't mean that these examples be suggested for topics.they were just an example of the different kinds of forums I've been to. :)

P.S. Thanks for the tip on "Skins",I wasn't aware of that. :)

i think we all just changed into nicer people xD and since we don't want to argue anymore and don't have time to do it we simply just post nice stuff (myself included, i try to avoid arguments here since i FINALLY learned my lesson after about 1 or 2 years of constant useless arguments)

I agree, actually. One or two general news/discussion topic threads here and there manage to do really well and bring out good discussion, but for the most part a lot of non-game related threads get one or two replies and then fall off the page and in general bump topics that are related to gaming even further back.

At the very least, I still think General Discussion and General Gaming Discussion (re: multiplatform games and game-related topics that don't fall in a certain console category) should become two separate forums so that people like myself and Strubes can look up game-related topics more easily.

It was originally like this. Posts in F&G counted towards your Post Count. The spam was just way out of control, though. The Post Count indicator became a number to boost. People would come on all the time just to post in every single active F&G topic, then leave to come back later and do it again. Very often it would be just two people saying things back and forth in "Person Above You" or games like that. It's far too much of a headache to deal with from this side, so it was much easier to just bar posts in F&G from counting on your Post Count.
 
i never got that whole "i gotta get my post count up" deal.. i mean true there were times where i argued back and forth with someone but usually it was on topic and i did think about what i was writting about not just blurting "boo" out there.
 
Well, most of my posts are in the General area mainly because I'm more of a retro gamer. My newest game is the Orange Box and there are only a few new games I want to buy right now. The other 95% are older games.

i am a little baffled... last month was our lowest in posts in a long time. I'm just trying to gage interest and look to possibly turn stuff around.
 
Yea I don't know man, things just keep getting slower and slower here. I hardly even see many of the old regulars anymore like Aleeock, Mai Valentine, GM, Joyling, Cherry, and so on. I guess everybody is just super busy and crunched for time right now.

I know what you mean.I haven't seen Joyling or Mai post in a while.Could it be that maybe the topics are too much of the same ol' thing maybe?Of course,a lot of members have jobs,school and families that come first.I've been in this forum almost 2 years,and when I first joined,this forum was cookin'!Perhaps posting has been put on the back burner for more private reasons?

P.S. Coming up with new ideas for threads can be difficult.The more seasoned members have covered so many aspects of gaming in previous threads since the birth of this forum,it makes it more difficult to post new ideas.
 
I've just had no access to the laptop. My internet was messed up until last night! But other than that, most of my time is dedicated to either debate, homework, friends, or gaming.

Wait, you mean like, you actually have a real life!? ;) Glad to see you are keeping busy!
 
I know, right?! :lol A real life for me was unheard of until I entered high school. And got a nice cell phone. And a ps3. It's a wonder what these things do lol.
