Metal For Life!!!
for some reason my PS2 doesn't play DVDs anyomre. It would play them like a month ago but now it just says disk read error. Is their anyway i can fix that?

Dr. Mega is in, please don't make a fuss! Stand aside, where's the patient!?

NURSE!? NURRRSE!!!...NURSE!!!! Where's the bloody Nurse when you need one??

*looks at GM*...Oh there you are! :) Hello hello!

I'm READY TO OPERATE!! :D

let's see...hmmmm...DRE...Disc Read Error. Your PS2 is in dire need of some cleaning, if it cannot read a particular format of disc, then something is wrong with the eye laser. Which is sloved by A) Replacing it or B) Getting it cleaned. I do recommend what GM stated, check the condition of those DVD disc, if they are badly scratched, then the PS2 may not want to read them.

Also, DO NOT use any CD Cleaning Disc that has the lil brush on it, this will only make the laser eye worse! Take it to a professional.

Canned air, is rumored to help, but all it really does, is scatter dust bunnies all inside of it...leading to more problems you don't wish to have :(

the DVDs are fine their might be a couple of little scrathes on the other DVDs but the thing is i put 2 new DVDs in and their not scratched, i'll give it a clean tomorrow and see if that fixes the problem

i'll keep you posted!

How old is the PS2?

Now I don't know if this is true or not, but it's rumored that if you play a lot of DVDs on a PS2, it burns the laser out faster because DVDs have to be read constantly (whereas games do not). When the lens starts going out, you can tell because it gets picky. Some PS2s will stop reading DVDs first but still play PS2 games and games with the blue backs. Sometimes it will start with the blue backed discs. Etc.

But hopefully, cleaning it works for you. :)

This is true, if you use your PS2 to play DVD's mostly, you're gonna have a bad time. Blue disc are the hardest for a PS2 to read. That's why it makes a loud sound when trying to read.
