What are some good mags or books to read? what's your favorite magazine? I subscribed to GI a while back ($7 for 10 issues and a 10% discount on all used games and accessories). Some of thier reviews make no sense. How can you say nothing but negative things about a game...but somehow you still give it a 6. 6 is playable IMO. But if thier isn't anything good to say about a game...then shouldn't it be a 1 or 2? Have any of you seen a game get a 1 or 2 rating? Anyway...GI's previews are great! Got a Nintendo Power the other day...not like it used to be back in the day...
 
I get GMR and plan to get another (not sure which). GMR's pretty good, just go to EB Games and pick up a copy, or subscribe, or whatever. Covers all the major systems of today, good articles, shows previews, etc. Check it out sometime.
 
I like GMR better than GI, even though I work at GameStop. I prefer GMR's ratings system. But GI does get a lot of great exclusives. Their July issue has exclusive Metroid Prime 2 information, along with all the E3 stuff. :woot

Overall, my favorite gaming magazine is Play. They almost always have the best stories and screenshots. Their layout is also pretty good.

My favorite system-exclusive magazine is Nintendo Power. They cover the Nintendo games in more detail, naturally. :)
Second system-exclusive mag would be XBOX Nation. It's well written and not as biased as OXM.

I have the movie on DVD, it's one of my favourites. :D I plan on buying the book sometime when I finish some other books i'm reading...

Anyway, I sometimes buy games magazine and Edge magazine. Only mags worth reading in the UK IMO. Cube magazine isn't bad either.
 
hmm games mags i get normaly are op2m, nindendo offical mag and ngc

I also buy empire, which is quite good, like retro hero said there isn't many good mags over here in england. were deprived lol
