Resident Evil 4

:lol I am not a real gamer....

Is the trick to buy a Ps2 to be a real gamer?
God forbid that I don't like a system.... or company.... even though I like the majority out there ::)

Pretty much the answer I expected. A real gamer would want the game to do well because it will help the genre and/or the industry.
Then if you really mean this, then you would want to see more games being posted to the Gamecube, no? Like devil may cry, or the GTA.... or GT series. Maybe some of the Namco Shooters..... but you don't care to see them over there.... EVEN THOUGH it could help out the genre or industry.

Come on Neph, you are just as bad as I am :lol :lol

Everyone is biased to some degree. I would fight to the death for Microsoft (not literally). Its not that I don't like the GC or PS2 (they both have some great exclusive games), but the Xbox systems appeal to me more. I was unable to decide what system to buy at first. I got a Cube, and was going to get a PS2 but my friend convinced me to get an Xbox and I haven't regretted it yet.

I like debates, but when they degenerate to pointless flame wars with no constructive conversation, its time to stop. Seriously BV, and you too Neph, just accept it. Everyone has an opinion. :o Some people have different opinions :o You both have reasons for your stance that make total sense to you but not to others. That is why it is your opinion.

Look, the Xbox doesn't even have RE4! I would but it in a heartbeat if it came out, with or without extras. But will I bad mouth the other versions just because it isn't on the 'Box? Nah. Great game, regardless of system or extras.

My 2 cents.

Im closing this topic. Neph, you take BV's opinions way to seriously and care way too much, as if you think he's trying to force YOU or any of us not to buy a Sony product. You already know what you like, that's all that should matter. Spartan already said what I wanted to say so Ill leave it at that.

Ok this topic is now unlocked again. Please keep it civilized and RE4 related. If it strays again it will be locked once more. This is a place to have fun, friendly discussion about games. Games are meant to be fun and not to be taking too seriously. So please carry on. :)

GAH! A WAFFLER!

Just kidding :p

Anyways, this game looks so good! I'm probablly going to but it for my friend, since he has a PS2...and Gamecube...and Xbox...and a killer PC...

But anyways, I probablly will get it since it is cheaper than it was even if I can only play it every so often.

Ok, i've sold my Gamecube version and am getting the PS2 version for Xmas. :) I didn't really play that much of it (too many other games distracting me) so it's more or less like a new game. There's not much else I want for Xmas this year anyway.

I have this game for the PS2, and both hate it and love it. I love it because it's a damn good game, and hate it because it has nothing to do with Resident Evil what so ever. The only connection I have found to the RE is that the main character is called Leon Kennedy, just like the guy in RE2. But then again he's changed both his apparance and his job, so it's not Leon any more. Zombies? Nope. Racoon? Blown up. Umbrella? Bankrupt. T-virus? Never heard of it. Does it even take place in America? Nope, Europe. Do they speak english then? 'fraid not, it's spanish.

It's just annoying. If they had released it as a non-RE game, it wouldn't have sold as much. That seems to be the only reason why they called it RE in the first place. And by the way, how come they called it Resident Evil 4 when there are at least five games plus two online games before this? (not to mention a Gameboy version and two lightgun versions)? It's just weird. Or, you know, money talks.

I actually agree with Nightwolf but it's still really sweet. Obviously the actual gameplay is the best yet for a Resident Evil game but I personally liked RE 1's {for cube} atmosphere better. Maybe it's just nostalgia though.

Resident Evil isnt just about zombies. It's about survival horror. I think this game lives up to the name of that genre.

Plus it does still follow after the Resident Evil plot...

Just because it doesn't have zombies doesn't mean it can't be a Resident Evil game.

And it doesn't HAVE to take place in America...

I'm not saying RE4 is a bad game, I'm just saying it doesn't fit into my description of RE. The series have (to me) always been about Umbrella and their experiments with the T-Virus in Racoon City. The virus created all the monsters, including the zombies. RE: Code Veronica X was a bit questionable since it didn't take place in Raccoon, but that could be the reason they didn't call it RE4 even though it was a direct sequel to RE2. (Claire searching for her brother Chris). Still, it was Umbrella, T-Virus, zombies, you name it. Even the Tyrant was in it. So far I haven't seen a single familiar face (or any other body part for that matter) :D in RE4. The only connection is Leon, and he a) have a new look and b) have a new job. I know Ada is in it as well, but I haven't gotten around to her just yet. Please don't spoil things. ;)
