Should we disable post counts for the fun and games section?

I DO NOT WANT TO DISCOURAGE POSTS IN THERE OR AT ALL AT THIS BOARD. That is not my intention... but I do want to get people to post more in the gaming sections as well :)

I want the posters posting as much as they have been..... that is the ultimate goal.....

I might get flamed for this, but yeah, I think you should disable post counts for that section.

It sometimes seems like whenever I'm posting in a game forum and don't get a reply even though people are on the board, it's because they're too busy posting in the Fun & Games. But you could argue that it's because they have fun playing those, rather than they are trying to up their post counts.

It's a bit of a bummer sometimes to post a topic that's like...discussiony and then have people ignore it to post one liners in the fun & games forum.

It's up to you, really.
 
YES! I know it'll probably result in less posts there, and may discourage some who post there, but it'll help weed out those who are actually having fun and those who just want to have a high post count.
 
Yeah, and there's still stuff in the General Discussion like Post It Post It and The Most Online topic that you can just post a few words in for a quick post to add to your count. :D
 
I'm for the removal of post counting in the fun & games forum, since I don't post there often and am getting whupped in every category....
 
I am just trying to encourage posting in other sections.

would it discourage you all from posting in the gaming sections.... or would you all post more in the gaming sections? Or even without the post count, would you post in Fun and Games as much? (the second question is the most important.)

I would post in the gaming ones more, or at least the same amount as before.

I should check out the fun & games forum more.
 
I think it would be fine. Even tho i like my post count its not really a game to beat every1 in post. Just post have have fun.
 
I guess i dont care..........but sometimes i just cant find things to reply to and its fun to go and there and raise my posts a little......i mean, i check through all of the forums and usually i can only reply to about 10-15 topics, and then i can get another 10-15 in fun & games alone


wait, is there any way possible that you can disable the fun & games posts adding to overall posts but make another section that keeps track of your posts in fun & games?
 
unfortunately, I doubt it... that is some ADVANCED stat keeping :)

ah.... maybe I'll just forget this... and let the posting commence.

The Gamecube forum has the most posts of any of the gaming forums but it's still 1798 posts behind the Fun & Games forum. The gap is not likely to get any smaller as long as we keep posting in the F&G forum while only posting a little in the game forums.

It's just something to think about.

I know.... maybe in the future we will do this, but for now... I do not want to discourage any posting at all because we have a lot of catching up to do unfortunately.
Maybe while they post in the F&G and Gen Disc..... they will go down to the other forums as well and post.

Thats all we can hope for. But for the time being, I think we need to encourage as much posting as possible.
