This is mainly due to a dirty system, just like the Japanese had the exact same issues.
 
Ditto. This is probably due to people who have children that trash their games and systems.

What's really cool, is this dual layer DVD has been used before on a famous PS2 game, by the name of "GOD OF WAR" 1 and 2. If it's gold, that's a dead indicator

I had the same problem with a Jak X disc on the PS2. We called Sony and they told us that no Jak X disc would work. I never got my money back...
 
Apparenlty my friend was among the small percentage. He just got Brawl this morning, and couldn't play it all. He's sending it out first thing this morning, and he'll hopefully have it back by the end of the week.

Sucks too. I was looking forward to coming over while I was at work all day.

Now... I have a 1st generation Wii as well. In fact, I got mine before day #1 (only because I own the business). But still... I know a couple others that were 1st day and had no problems. Nintendo DID send out an update. When I put Brawl in, the Wii stated it had to update before the game could be played.

I wonder what's up... and why these others are having problems.

The only problem I have had GAME WISE with the Wii is Madden 08. Man... at times I try to login to the online play, and I cannot. It allows me to join up on the game, butnot to get passed the team select screen. It has also stalled my Wii a few times.

There was what I can only assume to be a server crash earlier today. Myself, Mega, alee were all trying to join games but none of us could.

I actually have been unable to play with people I don't know since I got the game too.

It let me play with people I didn't know the first night... but since then its not letting me...
 
Last night, I couldn't even get online at all. I tried to join Mai's or Cherry's room, but it kept disconnecting me. After the 9th attempt, I just gave up. :(

Yeah, sometimes I can't even connect to Nintendo WFC in the first place. I tried joining fhq and one of my friend's games, and t says something like "This person has either deleted you from their friend list or they have ended their game."

Neither of those are true, Nintendo is just terrible at online.

well mine never had this problem and i bought my wii in launch week.... my on-line was not working at first but now it is.. see nintendo can fix whatever brings them money XD.

It has nothing to do with the Wii itself, it's Nintendo's servers that suck.
