I finally went to EBgames and traded in most of my GC games for an Xbox. I gotta say, I'm pretty excited after looking at all the games for it. Best of all, all the really good ones are platinum, so I get really good games for really cheap.

I know its probably stupid getting an Xbox when the 360 is right around the corner, but for the amount of money I'm putting into this system and its games, I think I'm going to get more bang for my buck.
 
and you are. Now is the greatest time to achieve Xbox hits. Because since the market is shifting so rapidly with the 360 craze. You can easily grab the popular Xbox titles without much struggle at all.
 
I picked up Mortal Kombat Deception Kollector's Edition for $19.99 Brand New at GameCrazy for Xbox....and btw the Cube and PS2 verison are the same price too....now the collector's edition is nice to have. Yet with new systems being released so soon, it's deals like that....that make me wanna stay back lol

Nah it's not stupid. Actually it's a wise investment since the new xbox is coming out in a month and everything becomes cheaper. Im trying to get one at the moment also. Plus I still dont think the new xbox has full backwards compatibility, but Im not 100% positive.
 
Ya, its frickin sweet. EBgames really impressed me with helping me get the most out of my traded in games. I got the system and two games (Crimson Skies and GTAIII) for nothing but traded games and I still got 70$ store credit left. they basically gave me $300 for my GC collection.

Wow how many games was that? I tried trading in some games at Gamestop but they would only give me like $2 for each of them. I said screw that! :sick
 
I do have an actual list, but it was in or around 20 games. The reason why I got so much for them was because I had some AAA titles (SSB:M and Mario Kart:DD got me about $20 each), but the biggest reason had to do with EBgames themselves.

They have this policy where putting traded games towards a system means that any game under $10 becomes 10$, and any game between $10-$20 becomes $20. I had a couple $1-$2 games that got bumped up to $10, as well as a couple $7-$8 ones, and a couple that were $12 and that got bumped to $20. I didn't even have to use any of my AAA titles to get the actual Xbox, just a bunch of outdated sports games and some 1st party sleeper hits.

yeah...  I give a lot more credit than EB games does... which makes me surprised that Stealth got that much...

Right now, prices are dropping on the Xbox, Ps2, Gamecube.... Most places have lowered ALL offering prices due to this... even I have had to cut back on what I offer for those 3 systems due to anticipated price drops and lower demand. Demand will pick up after the launch of the newer systems, but still.... its a crazy time.

I suppose I shouldn't boast too much about EBgames here, sorry BV, I should have traded with you instead, but this was more of an impulse thing where I just got up and decided to get an Xbox.

I hope you don't censor my posts. :lol

That's what I'm thinking too. Since I am finally making decent money... By christmas time I should have some time to play some games.

Precisely. Ive learned to be more careful with my money and buying used is the best way for me.

The market is shifting BV. That's just business, whatever is high in demand. People attack that. The average American consumer is too fickle and will only budge if it's the hottest thing since sliced cheese.
 
I couldn't trade in my GC, cuz it was broken, if you were asking me...

The reason why I got an Xbox was just cuz I saw tons of games on it that I couldn't play when I had my GC. Now that I have the opportunity to play all those great games for cheap, it just made too much sense. Plus the graphics are still amazing on the Xbox. Playing Crimson Skies on my friend 27 inch TV, wow, my jaw actually dropped several times. Plus I love the fact that I can store music on it too. I mad ea soundtrack of about 25 songs for my radio station in GTAIII, and when I get up in the mornings and make breakfast I just put my Xbox on random and listen to it.

It's more of what I expected from games this generation, and it's great how I can play all these games for cheap.
