So what does it take?

MegaDrive20XX

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
What does it take to get a solid compliation of good games these days? Polls obviously work if games like Earthbound are finally to be released as downloadable on the certain Wii console.

What does it take to make the companies realize that there's good games to be released that can make them profit, much like the "Tales of" and again, Earthbound series?

The market only shifts to the sound of just one people's voice, depending on the country they say. Yet I recall, that if the fans demand it, it shall be done. i.e. CastleVania Dracula X Chronicles on PSP comes to mind.

A prime example of how long it takes, for one amazing game to be ported to the North American public.

I wish we didn't have this kind of problem. I wish it was as easy as putting a regional DVD into another region format. However, no. Too much money envolved.

Yet how much money are we talking here? Each company rolls the right amount of bills. Some companies not as much, but can somehow pull it off. Is it knowing the right people in marketing to publishing these types of games that we would give up a newborn baby for just spinning wool into gold? I certainly would, because babies are good currency in some countries, like Khakistan :) Could he be troll under a bridge perhaps? Who bullies us for Billy goats instead of human infants?

Sometimes, it just takes a good *****slap to the face for some companies to realize they can make a lot of money off a game even though they didn't 14 years ago.

It can also mean they could ruin the franchise and be done with it forever.

Maybe some companies just want to leave a killer game alone?

Who knows...

But... if they could make money off of it, I would think they would do it. Being in business is about making money.
