Some questions concerning Sports games?

I am curious about Sports Games. When it comes to Sports games, I am not a fan, except for racers. And I do have NBA Jam in my gaming library. I have often wondered why Sports games so easily end up in the bargain bin for as little as $1.00? Especially during the 16-bit years I saw them for as little as a $1.00 each. Is it because of the changes in the team players popularity and player lineup? And just how accurate is the game in depicting a popular sports player's abilities? Or a Team for that matter? Is it just the matter of placing a face on a game character and sucking in the fans? Is it just the particular sport that has been translated to a console that you can play with a controller and the faces are of our favorite players? Have sports games improved over the years, or remained the same? My main reason for not liking Sports when it comes to gaming is that I do not want to be a coach. But arcade style playing could suck me in to liking something like that.

Every time a sports title is released it becomes less and less money to buy as the next season in real sports draws closer and closer. In my opinion, sports titles become boring fast because it's the same old crap game after game season after season. The endings suck.Sometimes games like hockey do better in sales within Canada as opposed (Reader:Please notice that I said "Sometimes",it's not carved in stone.)to say the USA.Where I live, football titles don't really sell very well, they seem to do better in the USA.No real incentive to play more than 1 season.

I don't like sports in general. :lol
Another thing about sports games... They're based off something that actually happens. Don't the majority of us play games in order to do/see stuff we can't in real life?

Nope, I play games to have fun :P Sports games are really hit and miss, though. I pretty much only play baseball games and I find that they are usually either unrealistically easy, or unrealistically hard.

Sports games are so common, whenever a new one comes out people tend to get rid of the old one since it's outdated, sports games don't really differentiate from the previous ones unlike a game like Final Fantasy for example.

They're like ipods, an older one is always going to be inferior to the current one.

Hell I practically gave away over 15 genesis games with the console since they were mostly sports games xD

I think the problem with sports games is 2 fold since a new one comes out every year that causes the market to be over flood with copies and game improvements go unnoticed since you don't have the tech jump you get when you go several years between releasing a title that most series have.
Personaly I don't like them the last time I had any in my possesion was about 2 years ago when I was in at gamestop they were offering someone like a dollar a title so she just hand me the 6 games and told me I could have them. I took them home pitched the games and the dust jacket that with them and kept the empty cases.
