looks the same... i don't get it.... :?
 
Classic is reminiscent to genesis era gameplay with a few moderized tweaks and Modern Gameplay is basically using gameplay from sonic adventure stages and up but completely recrafted into its own thing is the best description i have.

Well if you look at the classic gameplay, it's almost completely 2D except when your going around the crazy things as shown in the video. While modern is play like sonic adventure or the newer ones where your camera is behind sonic and shows you a forward view except for a few times where your shown a classic style view.
