I'm still considering getting some 555s for music, but I want to hear from someone who actually has them on how much they leak.

As for the review, I don't ever go by consumer reviews... they don't mean anything because everybody is different. I go through word-of-mouth from a friend or actually using it myself, which is what I did here.

They leak quite a bit. They're really open. Definitely not a headphone if you want to keep noise levels down. They leak much more than my beyerdynamic DT-880s. Head over to the Head-Fi forums to see what they say.

As for reviews, I take them with a grain of salt as well but I try to see if there's any consistent complaint or positive news. It's always best to research even if it is a consumer review. Because let's face it, word of mouth from a friend is a consumer review. :)

Aww man... can you recommend a decent set of cans that don't leak too much?

Yeah, but at least I have a friend to beat on if it sucks. :p

For sure. They're no replacement for top-of-the-line 5.1s and almost any 7.1 setup, but especially in situations where you can't keep the volume loud on speakers, headphones are great. I use mine in lots of different PC games (and have a few adapters so I can use it on my 360, as well), and it's great.

Hm then headphones will be pretty awesome then, it will be awesome to hear my games and animes and stuff in a whole new way, lol...and I could finally avoid turning the volume down at night.

I'm just wondering if it's worth upgrading my Razer Barracuda AC-1 sound card for an Asus Xonar D2X (or similar) card to pair with my Logitech Z-5500's? I'm always listening to music, even when playing games, and I watch movies frequently as well. I try to hit all FLAC in my collection.

Off the top of my head, the Beyerdynamic DT-770's. I own these and use them at work for their noise suppression. They sound great as well. A lot cans in the 550 range tend to be more open since being open produces better sound replication.
