Spike TV's 2008 VideoGame Awards! TONIGHT! At 9pm EST!

Debbie is one of the best. Just like Hayter.

Correction Keith wasn't best male actor in a game it was the guy that did Niko from GTAIV.

Also, Best Graphics and Score: Metal Gear Solid 4

Brutal legend looked interesting. Reminds me of the animated 80's film, HEAVY METAL.

and game of the year goes to......

Grand Theft Auto 4....

I would have rather chose LBP, predictable.

Watching that Bonus Round on Gametrailers kinda revealed or hinted at least and which games had chances at winning certain categories.

Now I just wait for Gamespots game of the years, and if Gametrailers will do their own.

What would you have picked Zidart?

Super Smash bros Brawl obviously.... i mean whenever i turn if i say "let's play wii" i mean "let's play brawl"

AND OFFICIALLY XD SPIKE TV IS MADE OF FAIL AND SHENANINGANS

According to the Wedbush financial correspondent Brawl will be recognized for best selling title this year, well he already had the numbers in that last Bonus Round on Gametrailers, so it will get recognition eventually, lol.

But what was the Best PC game, they didnt update the website/

best selling title??? doesn't that go to GTAIV as well?

According to him and that Bonus Round it is going to go to Super Smash brothers Brawl, GTA IV seems to have only broke day 1 records, but SSBB has been out longer than it.

The only problem is that his statement goes against the numbers found on Wikipedia, unless he was saying best selling game on one system, since GTA IV came on 2 systems and SSBB is only on Wii.

Sweet fancy Moses! If there was ever a time in which I needed to focus on studying for finals more, but wanted to so much less, this is it. Just reading this thread has been entertainment enough for right now, if I was to watch any of the announcements mentioned my entire day would shot surfing Gametrailers. :lol

Double post. Whatever. Sue me... but not really.

Dante's Inferno looks incredibly bad. When I first read (in this thread) about its announcement, I was skeptical. Seeing the first 75% of the trailer made me think it might actually work as a really dark, scary, disturbing game ala Eternal Darkness, but then at the end when (who I can only assume is supposed to be) Dante beats to death a Shade/Demon with a cross. What is it supposed to be, an action oriented hack'n'slash? And if so, then drop the use of Dante's Inferno, because its not going to do the book justice. Also, I have read Dante's Inferno, cover to cover, and let me tell you that referring to it as a "Comedy" is a terrible way to represent that book. :lol

Brutal Legend, on the other hand, looked amazing. I am a Jack Black fan, but I'm not a Double Fine fan (I was one of few people who picked up a copy of Psychonauts and traded it in within a month - not because I beat the game, in fact I was probably only a few hours into the main story, but because it was very, very, boring), however I think I'm going to love the union they have formed. I expect to enjoy this game on as many levels as I enjoyed Conker's Bad Fur Day, which is to say, a lot.

The rest of the teasers were just that, nothing more than confirmations of each game's existence. Woo...hoo. When I see trailers like that I always wonder how much time and effort it takes to make them, and then I always think that time and effort would have been better spent actually working on the game's completion. Such was the case with many of the trailers shown.

Heh, but they do use some of the trailers footage in the opening sequences of most games, or even in cutscenes so the time they spend on these is not like it is all for naught.

Unlike Square Enix who spends tons of time trying to make the perfect trailer

I suppose that's true. I do enjoy Square-enix's ability to make a great cutscene. The end of FFXII basically consisted of the best action scenes from Star Wars Episode 3, except with interesting characters and less one-liners.
