I'm interested in a Kindle Fire. It's not technically a tablet, but it can do what I would do with a tablet (surf the web), with the additional bonus of being an ereader.

I got Joy one for Christmas and she really likes it. I think she may get me one for my birthday.

Proud Transformer Prime owner here. It took awhile to get ahold of one, but they're completely worth the wait. Improves on the original Transformer in so many ways.

I'm going out tomorrow to hunt for a dock. Wish me luck!

I honestly think tablets are a waste of money. I mean we got phones that'll do just as much as a tablet can so what's the point?

Not that I personally want or need one, but if I were to, I would say a bigger screen is nice. I don't mind phone apps but sometimes I feel the phone's screen is a bit too limiting especially if it's an app that relies on visual details.

Also, not having to tie up your phone is nice as well.

I would buy a tablet if I can get one for a good price
Although limited in Apps right now... the Blackberry Playbook 64GB is $300 right now... that isn't too bad of a price. One of the sexiest screens out there.

I agree here... Sometimes the cell screen just doesn't cut it. Most of the time it can get you by...

If that's the case then why not just use a laptop? You can do so much more.

Because it's not as portable and doesn't have the same battery life as a tablet. It really depends on what your needs are. I personally prefer a laptop since I'm a power user, but if I just do very simple things and don't need all that power, then a laptop can be overkill. It's a matter of lifestyle really. Most of us here are pretty tech savvy, so anything less than a laptop probably won't do. But to just have something that can do the basics can be very convenient.

On my desktop computer, this is pretty much all I do: post on forums, read fanfiction, and check Tumblr. So, I can do that on a tablet pretty easily. :D

You can get a laptop to do basics, that's why they have netbooks right? You got me on the battery life and I agree with you on it depending on your lifestyle but still, you're at home, coffee shop or wherever you're gonna choose a tablet over a laptop? These days laptops are like paper weights now, like less than 7lbs. But I'm just saying.. cause I don't like tablets nor laptops, strictly desktops for me but if I had the chose I'd choose a laptop over a tablet.

I have this thing that's been around for a while. Very reliable. It's called "book." My filing system is a tried and true system that's been around for years. I call it "book shelf."

:lol I do too... I have a ton of books. It is nice to have some on my Kindle though... makes it easy to tote AND search for references. But good call :lol

I love my tablet, but I'd still much rather have a laptop.
which tablet do you have?

I'm actually hoping Microsoft will eventually make one so that I can have a tablet that integrates with Xbox Live and Zune.
I think some of the Windows Phone 8 devices do this... wait for the near future... Windows 8 will provide some of the functionality you are looking for (at least it looks like it based on Microsoft's current direction with Windows 8)

Yeah I have a Windows Phone 7 right now and I really like it. The only thing it doesn't have now that I want is the ability to play flash.

I wish they had a good Android app for Xbox Live.

Alright grandpa. :lol

@bluevoodu it's a Toshiba thrive. It was my Christmas gift this year. I wish the accessories weren't so expensive though.
