THE DARK KNIGHT offical movie thread

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
I just got back, it's 3:56am as I write this, so BEAR with me..I went to the 12:45am showing...and here's the results that are coming from an exhausted Mega :) HA HA HA HA!!

This movie was 2 hours and 30 minutes of a masterpiece. One of the finest Batman films I have seen to date. Period.

The Joker, is not the average typical one you'd expect..and I LOVED IT..it came out of the left field, it will surprise you as well..and Heath Ledger should have gotten a freakin' oscar for his role as The Joker. His idea and approach to how the Joker should act and feel to different situations was priceless.

I'm not gonna spoil ANYTHING regarding the storyline, because you gotta see it for your eyes to believe it. Even what I just said, doesn't spoil I think, because this movie makes the box office explode with class and diginity to deliver one hell of a film.

Saw it last night at midnight and WOW is all i have to say. One of the best movies I've ever seen in my life. What a memory for Heath Ledger to leave. His performance was flawless. Christian Bale is my favorite actor and Christopher Nolan might be my new favorite director...the man is a genius. SEE THIS MOVIE!

Only bad thing is that I got 3 hours of sleep and now I have to go to work all day. :(

Was it really unexpected? I would hope not, to be honest. Heath Ledger played the Joker in his purest form. A maniacal, psychopathic killer who knows what it takes to truly destroy someone. It was a marvelous thing to watch and finally someone got it right. It's really unfortunate that he will not be able to reprise his role for another movie.

To me, it really was unexpected, thanks to many sterotypes from the cartoons, comics, and film from 1990.

So that's why I still say it's unexpected. Yet, yes, Ledger did play Joker the way he was truly intended. It will suck badly when the sequel arrives, because nobody can have that exact motivation again.

I saw it at midnight and thought it was pretty good...wasn't the most amazing thing I've seen but a huge improvement over the first one...

The Joker really enlightened several aspects of the movie, however, I must admit that I was shocked at the 1 hour 30 minute mark when I thought the movie was supposedly ended and I looked at my clock and exclaimed to my friends that an hour was left. Needless to say within five minutes, it became truly a grim movie.

My final conclusion is that it was truly grim, interesting exciting in parts, hilarious. and Batman has the best technology known to Gotham City time.

I want to see that Massive Explosion in IMAX!!!

The way Heath Ledger played the Joker deserves an Oscar, maybe even two. It truly feels like you are watching a real life sociopath.

And no, I'm not one of those people who suddenly notices and likes an actor because they pass away. I have been a fan for a long time.

A dark, gritty, masterpiece. Glad to see a comic book movie taken seriously for once.

When I first heard Ledger was cast in the role, I thought they made a huge mistake.

Now that I've seen him play the role, I can't imagine anyone else doing it, and I don't even want to try. From the writing of his lines, to Ledger's delivery of them, in addition to all the physical aspects of acting, to the costume, lighting... everything was done perfectly. To have a villain that is comical at times, and horrifying at others, is a huge achievement. I saw it Friday night, and had to go see it again Saturday afternoon. One of the best movies I've ever seen, if not the best one. Not just Ledger's performance, but everything about the movie, was incredible. Aaron Eckhart did an excellent job of two-face, even though it may go unrecognized in light of Ledger's, it was exactly what it needed to be, very powerful at times, and simply believable at others. The turning point of the movie (where it felt like it should end) sent it to a new level where anything was possible and I genuinely did not know what was going to happen next. The special effects were spot on, Bale's performance was just as good as in Batman Begins, everything, just everything... awesome.

Best movie of the year, hands down. Everyone has to see it in theatres, at least once. Such a shame Ledger can't receive his due praise for his central part in making this film as fantastic as it is. God Bless.

Speculation has it that two-face isn't dead. They could easily write it so that he is simply kept at Arcum (sp?) because his public funeral was held for the reason of turning him into a martyr. But the Batman world has plenty of villains to draw from.

Personally, I'd like to see Bane. After the psychologist and the psychopath, it would be neat to see Batman go up against simple brutality. I don't know if he'd be the best choice to introduce, but it's one option.

I'd actually like to see Catwoman again. Just, make it more like Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman from Batman Returns than Halle Berry's Catwoman.

Yeah, I agree with that. Plus, he looked even creepier than Joker near the end.

There are a ton of villians from the old comics. There is Clayface, Scarface, and Anarky, to name a few. A lot of the foes of Batman might be hard to translate to the screen without getting a bit on the corny side of things. There needs to be a better one with Freeze, more serious.
