Yeah, I think I'm crazy too.

My point was that in Portal 2, co-op mode allows the use of 2 individual portal guns giving a total of up to 4 portals, and 2 different loops that can be created. But by correct placement of these loops one could theoretically reach through one end, and through another 2, which would give the appearance of 3 hands extending through 3 individual portals. This would allow you to shake your own hands individually.
