The Island of Misfit Video Games!

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
Based on the the 1964 Rankin-Bass TV special, "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer". Where Rudolph meets the Island of Misfit Toys

I figured there was an Island of MISFIT Video Games from over the years. Games that were suppose to be super popular and sell like crazy during the Holidays, but sadly didn't because they were released during different defective conditions such as, "The Wrong system, horrible controls, Not commercialized as much, poor reviews" Yet in the minds of us, some of these games were utterly brilliant and smashing, except a few flaws.

Here, I'll start with three that come to mind.

1. Street Fighter IV (Xbox 360). Did not sell as rapidly as the PS3 edition, why? CONTROLS! Poor little game, it's amazing, but nobody wants a Street Fighter with a Dumb Pad :(
2. MAD WORLD (Wii) Violent video games on the Wii are always ignored, but this game is a masterpiece!
3. Jak & Daxter The New Frontier (PS2) A new Jak & Daxter!? YES! Yet it's only on PSP and PS2. Ratchet & Clank has stolen the spotlight! "Nobody wants a Jak without a Daxter in the Box!"

What was it about the controls in "Street Fighter IV" for the "360" that were so different that they seemed to be so bad compared to the "PS3"?

Just curious. :)

Two more for the list:

The World Ends With You (DS) - In my opinion, this is the best game on the system, just barely anyone in America has played it. It's a very tough sell, being a Square Enix JRPG and a new IP. It would have helped them to put something on the box like "From the same person that did Kingdom Hearts". I actually much prefer this game to Kingdom Hearts.

Elite Beat Agents (DS) - Definitely one of the highest ranking games on the DS in my opinion. It's a music game, but it didn't sell probably because it's a music game that doesn't have the name "Guitar Hero" or "Dance Dance Revolution" attached to it. Little known fact, this game was basically the Americanized version of the Japanese games, "Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!", a game much like EBA but with male cheerleaders (female unlockable), and all Japanese music. They couldn't just straight up localize those games mainly because of the music, but also because a game about male cheerleaders wouldn't fly very well in the states. What we did get was a good game, and I wish we would get sequel. Another weird thing about this game is that the crappy song choices somehow help make this game more awesome. This game is the only thing, ever, that can make me listen to a Madonna song for an extended period of time. I guarantee there are many crappy songs that should be shoe-ins for a sequel to this game. The problem was, it didn't sell, and DS owners really missed out on a great game. I need to import Ouendan and Ouendan 2 one day, but to tide you over, I do suggest trying the freeware PC game "osu!", especially if you have a touch screen monitor or Tablet PC. That game can be found here: http://osu.ppy.sh/

Fair warning, playing osu! with a mouse is very challenging, but you'll eventually get used to it. I'm good at it myself now, but I still would prefer a stylus and touch screen any day. A few beatmaps I reccomend are "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen (the Phoenix Wright one), and "Hare Hare Yukai" from the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Beat me to it :p
And you really should get Ouendan 1 & 2, they're both fantastic. :D
I also second MADWORLD
as for my lis it would be:

Viewtiful Joe series - Got a lot of great reviews (excluding the fighting game) but not a lot of people bought the games
God Hand - Great beat 'em, probably the best on the PS2
Shenmue - second one being released on Xbox in the U.S. didn't really help

God Hand is amazing.

@Mega: Jak and Daxter: The New Frontier isn't made by Naughty Dog, so it shouldn't be played. Just like the Crash franchise....

Point proven.

One of my most favorite games of all time was Car Battler Joe for the GBA. Sadly, the game did not sell well at all due to a shortage of copies. To this day it remains a rare game... and it figures that I lost my copy. :(
