And no I'm not kidding..lol. We're complaining because a NEW model that came out doesn't play PS1 games. While this will be a heart-ache for few, it's not nearly as big of a deal as it would have been if the first PS2 didn't play PS1 games. This isn't a slap in the face to their fans. Not every Sony fan has a PS1 or its games. I bought a PS2 because of the great games I heard that were coming out for it..sure the console release-day games weren't the greatest, but there were alot of games that people knew were coming out in the future for it.
So what are all the millions of people with large PS1 collections supposed to do with their beloved games when their PS2's die? Sell them? Scour craigslist and ebay for old crappy PSX's? Trust me, this affects quite a bit more than a "few" people. And yes, in my opinion it is a slap in the face because these moves affect the long time fans who have built up a collection of PS1 and PS2 games. And it's just like adding insult to injury regarding the whole PS3 not being backwards compatible. It is just a bad move no matter how you spin it, there is just no way to justify it. I know you are a Sony fan, but, sometimes you just have to admit that they make mistakes, and this is a pretty big one.
