The Offical E3 2008 Thread (July 14th to July 16th)

That is quite interesting that

FF13 will be for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 on the same day in Europe and US, and only on PS3 in Japan. Apparentlty the Xbox people have been craving for another FF. Lets see if it will sell well :)

Glad I got a PS3 finally, I hope Infinite Undiscovery comes to the PS3 in 2009, and I hope The Last Remanant makes it to the PS3 by Winter or early 2009!!!

Great conference.

That's what I thought. At first I was like "oh man" the I realized that this would be good for 360 in Japan and then I saw the screen behind them and I was like "well maybe not so much".

Yea, they can't compare since half of what you said is on BOTH consoles.
IIRC, Fallout 3 has stuff exclusive o the 360 version, and Rock Band 2 takes an early lead on the 360.

Exclusive to 360 version, yea it's exclusive when it comes out on PC as well. RB2 gets an early release on 360 and then comes out on PS3 do I really see exclusivity then? No.

No one counts the PC.

I see a window of exclusivity.

A PC is a gaming platform. Having a game on multiple platforms makes it mulitplatform. Having content that is on multiple platforms makes it multiplatform content making it nonexclusive.

People say console exclusive when there's a competition. There's no competition between the PC and 360.

Drop it. You don't count the PC as a platform, Frodus does, no one else wants to hear about it.

In other news... did anyone else think Fallout 3 was heavily "influenced" by Bioshock? While the game looks far more expansive than Bioshock I couldn't help but think the same formula was applied in making the game. American 1950's aesthetic + apocalyptic setting + moral decisions + RPG attribute system + ridiculous amount of ways to kill enemies = the premise and concept for both games. :lol

Its still looks good, don't get me wrong, but something about it made me think "I've seen this before."

Online co-op also seemed to be really big this year, which I was disappointed to see. Give me some good ol co-op split-screen any day. Gears 2 did look really good though. It looks like they kept enough of what made the game fun and just added to it. Time will tell but so far it looks really impressive, and very fun.

I loved on G4 when they used the Teddy Bear as a weapon for Fallout 3, it was quite hot. Definitely had an influence from Bioshock but then again, Fallout has been around far longer than Bioshock and being that I never played the original it could be that its style has always been that way.

True Bioshock did the 50's Apocoliptic setting first. But, did Bioshock have the Rock-It Teddy Launcher? I think not.

I'd say it's the other way around because all of those tings existed in the original Fallout games that both came out about 10 years before Bioshock.

Nintendo just Announced Animal Crossing for the Wii but, the most important thing they announced was the WiiSpeak. Basically, the Wii can now have Voice Chat.
