The Offical E3 2009 Thread (June 2nd-June 4th, 2009)

Now a Modern Warfare 2 trailer. It's clips of the one we saw a few weeks ago, but still awesome nonetheless. Live demo of this one too! At the beginning, it has the player climbing up a wall of ice with a fellow soldier. The graphics on it look very nice. This should definitely be a hit like the first game!

On to the gunplay! Still in a snowy landscape, this aspect looks very much like the first game. The gun the player is holding looks quite awesome, it has the radar on a screen mounted on the gun. Still a heavy amount of action like the original MW. Now he is riding a snowmobile. Apparently you can pull out a pistol while riding the snowmobile.
 
i really am getting pissed at this conference.... specially how they have shown games that are not even console exclusive... FFXIII is not even originally made for the 360.. is being ported to it
 
Square Enix is taking the stage and talk about Final Fantasy XIII. I was really anxious to see the 360 version, even though I'll be buying the PS3 version myself. We're going to get a look at the game running on Xbox 360. It seems to be running well. It is the same clip that was shown of the PS3 version. The battle is slightly different than what they had before. There are active time gauges now! The summon "Odin" is now being revealed for the first time. You can't conjure summons this early in the game, but they made an exception for this demo.

Epic Games is taking the stage now to announce an XBLA game, "Shadow Complex." It seems to be a side-scrolling Castlevania/Metroid style shooting game. Definitely something I'll be picking up. There's a boss battle being shown, which looks quite good. It's a spider-robot boss. The demo of it is over now, and the game should be coming sometime this summer.
 
A new game called Joyride, which is a racing game for Avatars. It looks set in a Wile E. Coyote desert. They couldn't go the entire conference without showing a kart-racer /sarcasm. It's an XBLA game with a unique feature, friends that haven't bought the game can play it with you over XBL!
 
Something Left 4 Dead related!!! There's zombies with chainsaws! ZOMG! You can use frying pans. I guess those L4D 2 rumors were correct!!
 
L4D2 looks awesome. Too bad everything else has been mediocre at best. They better step it up or they're going to become this year's EPIC FAIL.
 
Now we're seeing a trailer for Splinter Cell: Conviction. It looks very epic, much like a movie trailer. There are 2 presenters demoing the game. The melee combat looks very intense. Almost Madworld-intense. You can take hostages, and they say each level has choices about how to take on the mission. They still have the darkness element, like in the previous games. The mission objectives are displayed on walls and stuff, a very cool presentation style.
 
Forza Motorsport 3 is releasing this October! Now we're given a trailer for it. Now we get a demo of the game. They keep calling it "The definitive racing game of this generation" Gameplay looks very good, running well. They happen to be playing in a first person view. The player just wrecked and flipped the car, which was pretty cool. They say it will run at 60 FPS. On XBL, you will be able to customize cars again. The editor seems very detailed. Now we're seeing another trailer, which looks quite good, and filled with action.

well i agree that it is epic fail but hey at least they are delivering games to the audience they are aiming at so is not a total failure

Not sure about epic fail. Maybe just a fail. I don't think anything can be worse than Nintendo's conference last year.
 
Halo 3 ODST with gameplay is next!. There's an MGS style radio chat between a few troopers, which looks cool. The player is dropping in an obital drop pod, there was an epic scene there. The game takes place in New Mombasa, weeks before the events in Halo 3. The HUD looks a lot cooler now. There are 2 new sound supressed weapons and a new visor that puts you in a low-light vision mode. This one might be more about stealth. The new Pistol has a scope like the Halo 1 pistol! You will flash back to other ODSTs viewpoints in the past. This should give you many different perspectives on the game. There's a brand new Co-op mode called "Firefight". The game will release on September 22.

There's a trailer for a mysterious new game. This game is "Halo: Reach" It will release in Fall 2010. For those that don't know, Reach was the planet in the first Halo book. When you buy ODST, you get a key for the Reach beta.

That's why I said THIS year's. Every year has an epic fail for me..there is no other levels of fail in my books. :p

Aren't you supposed to be at E3 Creepin?
 
Gameplay for Alan Wake. People have been waiting to see this game for years, and now we finally get a chance. It plays in third person, with the player holding a shotgun. The game sort of reminds me of Resident Evil, with the view from 4 and 5. Now we get a "To be continued" screen. This game will come out in Spring 2010.
 
You can watch sports on Xbox Live now. You also no longer have to browse the Netflix catalog on on your computer, you can do it on your 360. Movies on Xbox Live are going full 1080p. Movies and TV shows can be enjoyed instantly, with no download delays! Number of countries the video store is in available is going from 8 to 18! It will be relaunched as "Zune Video". You will be able to enjoy movie, TV shows, and music with your friends now over Xbox Live, not having to be in the same room. Your avatars are in the same room now.
 
hmmmm "being able to watch movies and tv shows with your friends at the same time"....where have i heard that one before?

though the facebook thing is kinda cool.

......the presentation girl is becoming a lot more annoying than the creepy lady from last years nintendo xD
 
Facebook for Xbox Live is now announced. Felicia Day takes the stage to show off Facebook on 360. You can see your Facebook friends and Xbox Live friends together. You will be able to take screenshots of certain games and post them on Facebook on 360. Been waiting for a feature like that.

Now Twitter for 360 has been announced. You can post tweets on your console and see the people that you are following.
