But what about Unleashed? I'll sell a kid for a 360 when Unleashed hits the shelves. Uh, I mean kidney. Yeah. Anyone seen anything more than artist renditions of fight scenes?
I'm taking a wait and see mentality on that one too. It could turn out to be just another hack and slash, or it could be absolutely brilliant.

I'm going with brilliant. Hack and slash wouldn't involve all those crazy things you can do with The Force. You can get really strategic with it, I bet.

Yeah, they're promising all this limitless interaction with the Force, but I'll believe it when I see it.

At least the AI and environment reactions seem like it'll be like that.

Re: Dirt on Fallout 3

In regards to Fallout 3 : We can only pray that it isn't oblivion with a face lift. I would hope that their weapon options are vast and the NPC are more colorful than oblivion though.

On Unleashed : I have been awaiting this forever but from the action screens I am not at all impressed. sure early runs and images are just a precursor to the final product but even then it looked as if the controlling would be wonky. And my god if it is a hack and slash I would be cross with lucas arts. lol.

Fallout 3's world smaller than Oblivions, but bigger doesn't always mean better

http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/15/fallout-3s-world-50-to-80-percent-as-large-as-oblivion/

It's said that bigger is not necessarily better, and it's a mantra that Oblivion dev Bethesda seems to have subscribed to for their next sprawling adventure, Fallout 3. In a massive interview with Gameplayer, Bethesda spokesperson Pete Hines said that, though no one had walked Fallout 3's post-apocolyptic D.C. from end to end, it's probably 50 to 80 percent as big as the world of Oblivion.

That said, it's not necessarily bad news. Fans of the series (or opponents of walking) might be relieved to hear that Bethesda is taking the quality over quantity route. Not to mention that 50 percent of Oblivion's land mass is still pretty darned big. Check out the rest of the interview for a vaultful of other non-geographic info.

Still, 50 to 80 percent of Oblivion's world is vast and huge in itself.

Re: Fallout 3's world smaller than Oblivions, but bigger doesn't always mean bet

I'm very glad they aren't making Fallout 3 as big as Oblivion. When you have a world that big, you simply can't make a lot of it new and interesting. That was actually one of my main complaints with Oblivion. There was a lot to do, but much wasn't worth doing. Good to see they're taking a different route with Fallout.

Quality over quantity any day!

Over 200 endings for Fallout 3..and it's bigger than we expected.

Fallout fans can look forward to over 200 different endings with the upcoming Fallout 3, according to Executive Producer Todd Howard. Speaking on the OXM podcast (interview starts at 37-minute mark) Howard said, "Being that we are Bethesda, everything gets a bit big. So as of last week, we're over 200 endings. That is not an exaggeration, but it deserves some descriptions."

The clarification is that, like other Fallout games, choices you make in the game will affect aspects of the ending, so that figure is really a combination of many sub-endings. The real question, then, is how many times do you have to beat the game to see every sub-ending?

Howard also confirmed that Fallout 3 is twice the size than anticipated and close to the size of Oblivion. "The game is easily 100 hours," he said. Howard also goes into detail about the dog companion. Fallout 3 is still on track for release this Fall.

Now they're saying the size of the world is almost as big as Oblivion's, rather than the 50% we heard before. I can't wait to try this game out.

Oh....wow. This game is huge. Do I have to play the rest of the series to understand this one?

No, I believe this is a completely new story. :)

Agreed, to the fullest extent. :)

Re: Over 200 endings for Fallout 3..and it's bigger than we expected.

All the fallout games have been amazing...but this one takes the cake I have to say. Most definitely one game to look out for in 08'

Re: Over 200 endings for Fallout 3..and it's bigger than we expected.

I'm probably one of the few people who have enjoyed the original Fallouts and am looking forward to this game. Most Fallout fans are going into a berserk rage over Bethesda's "butchering" of the game.

However, the 200 endings don't have me very intrigued. Take Star Ocean 2, which boasted over 80 endings. I suppose it's how you see an ending, but an ending in Star Ocan was how a character or character's got paired up at the end (or lack there of). Basically, I don't want these 200 endings to be 20 second segments.

Re: Over 200 endings for Fallout 3..and it's bigger than we expected.

I really didn't need another reason to get excited for Fallout 3, but here's one. I doubt every one of the 200 endings is really different, but it's exciting none the less.

They have been saying that the world is almost as big as Oblivion since the beginning, actually.

Re: Over 200 endings for Fallout 3..and it's bigger than we expected.

I haven't played the previous Fallouts, but have seen previews, and i think I played a demo of the first one, and enjoyed it. (Though I could've gotten that confused with something else, lol). Anyway, I'm anticipating this games release.

PLEASE, someone, tell me it's available on 360'. I still doubt that my PC (though it's already proved itself with other cases I thought would never work) is able to run this, because last I checked, it's only just capable of running the minimum requirements for Bioshock (which I almost grabbed not that long ago when i went on a birthday-cash-spending-rampage).

I've already been shot down in knowledge I'll never obtain a copy of Starcraft 2. Please, let this be available fro 360'. *starts to pray to/bride the gaming gods*
