The Offical LittleBigPlanet Thread (Update 8/14/10)

There is a great use of the PS3's shaders in this clip. The game looks cute and fun. The graphic style is original and it is nice to see a PS3 exclusive for once.

LittleBigPlanet (We're almost done)

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6188115.html

LittleBigPlanet is one of the most highly anticipated games of the year, and it is being developed by UK-based Media Molecule, makers of oddball PC game Rag Doll Kung Fu.

The quirky platformer will be coming exclusively to the PlayStation 3, and is currently slated to be out this autumn, with the general consensus being that means 'September.'

Media Molecule looks to be on target for hitting this deadline, as this week a new post appeared on its Web site to tell the world that "We're still alive!" and that LittleBigPlanet is nearing the alpha stage--which tallies with what the Cambridge-based devceloper said at a recent UK preview event.

A poster called Jim writes, "Sorry for the lack of updates, but we've been having a hectic time here at Mm Towers. Having finally sobered up after the Surrey Business Awards we've been slaving away pushing LittleBigPlanet toward the Alpha stage of its development cycle. Basically this means all the cool stuff we said will be in there should be playable, even if it isn't pretty enough to release. The game seems to change every day at the moment and it is very exciting to be able to sit down and play what feels more and more like a complete experience."

He added that at the moment, things were "stressful" and that the team were maintaining personal projects to stay sane--including drawing, writing music...and making other games.

Re: LittleBigPlanet (We're almost done)

AWSOME!!!! I'll have to keep an eye on this one then. If i fall back mega, mind if you pop me an update? It's a tad hectic on my end of the world with School and exams and stuff, so i do't get much chances to get online these days. :)

Re: LittleBigPlanet (We're almost done)

In spite of being initially hyped for this one, I've kind of forgotten about it lately (it probably has to do with the fact that it doesn't matter when it comes out, because I won't have a PS3 this year =P). Still looks like it's shaping up to be a really good game.

Re: LittleBigPlanet (We're almost done)

Yeah, I just realised that fact... I HAVE NO PS3!!!!! NOOOO!!!!!........... *sigh* Well, i can always somehow rock up enough money to buy one, then get it. lol.

Re: LittleBigPlanet (We're almost done)

All other, obvious, awesome things about this game aside, the music for it rocks. I haven't heard a song track from a videogame captivate as this one has since the original PIkmin debuted at E3, many years ago.
