The Official "What Ticks Me Off" Thread

What ticks me off is "GTA:San Andreas".yet I keep selling it only to turn around and re-purchase it a week later. :hh

Another year of Christmas retail, and it's annoying how the customers will assume that we are giving them rude customer service, when the reality is that they probably just cut in line. :-\

Seriously. Today at work was like that. Jessica was at lunch and Amanda was running film because someone had dropped off like 20 rolls, and I was on the register with a line constantly about five deep, usually just people wanting cameras we didn't have. Someone would come up to the counter and say they wanted a camera, but of course they never know what brand or model it is so I have to walk around the counter and go to the camera bar to see which one they are talking about, and then while I'm doing that, people out in action alley grab me to ask for something or someone needing help on the Kodak Picture Maker asks for something and I had to tell more than one person, pointedly, that I would help them when I was done helping the customer I was currently already helping.

It's like dude, there's 364 days of the year that are not Christmas, so why do people, every single year, wait until the last minute?? And then complain because the store is crowded; we don't have the items in stock; there are lines; etc.

DUH! It's the weekend before Christmas!! :hh

That is all.

Well would you not do the same thing if you were in the store needing to buy something? Perhaps you wouldnt respond by saying something rude, but certainly you wouldnt just stand there and wait until you saw that your line was clear or you were done helping 5 people in a row?

Needlesss to say, all shoppers should shop online.

I don't understand what you mean? Isn't it rude of a customer to cut in front of five people in line and ask for help, as if they are more important than the 5 people who have already been patiently waiting? I always tell people, they can wait in line and I will help them when they get to the counter. Is it really that difficult to understand?

Well the people are anxious and have difficulties. The same thing in an emergency room in which everyone is in pain and in need but they have to wait. Sure there is a line but when one needs just a question answered, it can be done. Plus if the person you are with is just checking out then you can easily just tell them verbally. I had to do that at Wendys or else the people would just stand there and inhibit me from taking more orders, or in the case of the drive-thru, block the path, stupid people, im sorry.

But anyway, I think you are handling it the right way, and the people should definitely opt to wait in line if they have a question that would take more than a simply yes or no answer. At least they havent been complaining to your boss man.

Ok, this pisses me off. Today at work, we had this guy who was out in the play area. Apparently this family had "JUST LEFT" and left a mess on the table. Because there wasn't a worker out there instantly he wanted to call corporate on us and vowed to -NEVER- come to this store again. My manager simply said "Ok :)" to that. :lol

Yes, people cannot understand that. The form of a LINE does not click in their minds. Our counters are designed in an L-Shape. So they go to the left, right, and MIDDLE. So Today, my boss says to one customer, "Sorry we don't have that in stock" and 4 CUSTOMERS all said "Okay." and walked away. Which is super funny, because they all thought he was talking to each one, when he was only speaking to one!

I hate when customers leave the change on the counter and I can't pick it up.

I hate when customers throw credit cards at you like you're a dog.

I hate when customers lay the money on the counter in crunched up bills.

I hate when you ask a customer, "Can I help you?" and they say "No, but thank you" and turn around 1 second to ask a question.

OMG that's hilarious. I love it.

One guy I worked with had someone throw a credit card at him like that, so after he swiped it he threw it right back at the customer. I found it quite humorous.

You all are ruthless, I dont see how worrying about the method in which they pay is enough to cringe about, there are more pressing issues in the world at hand to not spend time giving these people the ounce of attention that they want for being mean or angry or treating us like nobodies or something. Sure it is an inconvenience to us, but I wouldnt continue to give it attention at all.

I'd rather be a ruthless pirate than a guppy! Darrrrr! ::D

Simple etiquette. It's not how they are paying, it's how they deliver the money being used. The customers at my work know not to mess with the counter guys. We give respect, and we "suggest" to customers to give it back. I have booted out a few customers who felt that it was okay to cuss and insult me in my work place.

When it comes to credit cards, I have no problems with customers tossing it onto the counter. If they toss it at me, I toss it back and walk away.

The thing that aggravates me the most is customers who get information off "teh internetz", interpret it the wrong way, and assume that they know way more than I do. Whatever. I usually walk them because it's not worth my time trying to educate someone who won't listen to reason. In the end they will be disappointed with the product they end up with and somehow blame me for it.

I am fortunate enough to be in an industry where the customer isn't always right. And I am free to tell them that.

That's the attitude which rude customers need to adopt. People need to get a grip on reality and realize that a line-up at a check out counter isn't the end of the world, and the person working there isn't going to work any faster if you berate them. Those people are providing you with a service, the least you can do is be nice to them while they work for you.

Also, what Dart said. Respect is a two-way street and so forth.
