I once had an energy drink that claimed 3000% (yes, three thousand percent) of the daily recommended amount of some of the B-vitamin complex. I cannot remember if it was B12 or B6, but the other B-vitamins were still in the several hundred percent daily allowance range.

Jesus.

Grindspine, did that can include a message saying if you drink this, you will die? It may be alright with some vitamins (like V-C for example), but B vitamins? B5, itself, has a specific approximate range that is deemed safe for humans.

On to the topic though; that energy drink you found Kaz is a shot one! I once tried a V-shot, just for perks. Costs more, has barely any extra caffeine, and tasted like a bad medicine.

No, it did not have that specific warning, however, it is probably because vitamins B6 and B12 tend to be quickly filtered out by the kidneys if not used. Quite frankly, any that isn't absorbed into cells is very quickly removed as urine.

Really?
I've never tried it before until before I made the thread.I did however, find it more effective then "Monster" as far as potency and it's degree of duration. But in all fairness,I'm a coffee drinker.Maybe that boosted it's effects.

Coffee sometimes tends to taste better too, kaz. ^_^

And you're right, Grindspine, any unused minerals and vitams do get filtered, but that doesn't stop problems when there's way too much. The Kidneys alone can't handle everything alone, and some things are just plain dangerous above the recommended amount.

Grindspine and I read some info on energy drinks not long ago.It said that some energy drinks contain ephedrine.I've never seen any with that.If it were true, you would have to buy it from a pharmacy,no?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ephedrine (EPH) [pronunciation: i-ˈfed-rən, British also ˈef-ə-drən] is a sympathomimetic amine commonly used as a stimulant, appetite suppressant, concentration aid, decongestant, and to treat hypotension associated with anaesthesia.

Ephedrine is similar in structure to the (semi-synthetic) derivatives amphetamine and methamphetamine. Chemically, it is an alkaloid derived from various plants in the genus Ephedra (family Ephedraceae). It is most usually marketed in the hydrochloride and sulfate forms.

In traditional Chinese medicines, the herb má huáng (麻黄, Ephedra sinica) contains ephedrine and pseudoephedrine as its principal active constituents. The same is true of other herbal products containing extracts from Ephedra species.
Apparently, not in this form. If you recall the energy drinks, however, check to see if they're still marketed. If it isn't, then maybe that chemical, or else, another made it so.
