You mean it isn't a mod.Fr0dus Maximus said:it is a mod

the ps3 is for playing games and watching movies, which it does great with its current operating system. using a different one is completely meaningless
Fr0dus Maximus said:the PS3 wasnt just set out to be just a console with some added features. Sony gave the option for users to add Linux so that they could have a computer. Saying its meaningless is a meaningless post. If u could spend $600 on a console/blu-ray player/computer or spend over $2000 on them separately which would u choose?
Fr0dus Maximus said:some of the reasons right there are why I think the PS3 is hardcore. More than just games and movies, but a more selection of choices that the consumer can make. And i think that Blu-ray is the way of the future when it comes to content distro and after that its gunna be digital distro
Let's ignore that if you can afford a PS3, you can afford a computer. You don't even need Blu-Ray players now, most stuff is still standard(and cheaper). You're left with a console. A $600 one, no less. The PS3 pretty much has stuff everyone already has. Except for Blu-Ray. Which as I pointed out, isn't a necessity like a computer at this point.Fr0dus Maximus said:the PS3 wasnt just set out to be just a console with some added features. You can't have a computer that plays new games for $600. That's gonna cost you more than $600.fhqwhgads said:Yeah, because if you can spend $600 on a game console, you have a computer. Hell, if you spend $600 on a home entertainment system, you have a computer. Same thing with the PS3, just pointing it out.
