Here's what I mean. As a gamer I find different levels of enjoyment no matter what the title is. With this game, I most likely enjoy it simply because it's based on a group of charcters that were popular when I was growing up. I wouldn't care less about any of it's faults. Now would someone who is paid for his or her opinions say the same thing? No. Because saying "I enjoyed this game" on every article would not sell magazines. Now, I do realize that there are games that defy common sense when it comes to why they were released. But that is a very minor amount of games out there.
So I back up what I say. A the opinion of a gamer who buys a game and says it's great or says it's horrible without being motivated by magazine sales or money is an opinion that is more unbiased than someone who makes his living on praising games or blasting games in order to boost sales.
