To All Of Those With A Lot Of Different Systems.........

Do you have them all connected at the same time? If so, how do you keep them organized? I just bought a new TV and I'm building a HTPC so I'm going to have to some rearranging and I need a good idea to keep these all organized. I'm not having any luck finding any good furniture for this. For reference, this is how it looks now:

I used to have a setup like that, but I keep running out of room. Yet your setup is freakin' awesome!!

Question, what is next to the Dreamcast?

Thanks! It just sucks cause' I'm out of room and I don't know how I can rearrange everything to fit. I might have to figure out a way even though that means having only certain systems out at a time, or just go to one at a time.

Yeah, it's a crappy pic but it's a video switch.

your man room is awesome
nice vanquish and 1st gen viper posters...

lemme guess teh car models down there

diablo SV on the center channel speaker

F360? to the left of the nes..not sure whats to the right..looks almost like the diasia D962r or whatever they make

to the bottom right i see the plymouth road runner down there. cant see the other one.

the pic is excellent, I just thought it was a Turbo Grafx 16 :)

Don't tell me I'm the only one! Maybe I am OCD....

Hahaha, thanks man! :D

The car on the center is a Lamborghini Countach Quattrovalvole 500. You're right about the one to the left of the NES, it's a 360. The one to the right os a Ferrari F40. Not quite on, about the Road Runner, though there is part of a Road Runner in it. That's a Plymouth Super Bird. The other is a Dodge Viper R/T 10.

I ave others:

1991 Dodge Stealth R/T TT
Two 1970 Plymouth AAR Cudas
1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda
1970 Dodge Challenger R/T SE
1969 Dodge Charger R/T
1970 Plymouth GTX

On the way is a 1971 Plymouth Hemi Cuda. Been looking for one for a long time.

What kinda speakers ya got there? How big is the sub?

The towers are Polk TSi 300s, the center is a Wharfedale WH-2, the rears are Wharfedale WH-2 bi-poles, and the sub is a Dayton 120 12".

Oh cool. I always heard about those Dayton subs but never actually knew anybody that owned one. I bet it thumps pretty good considering the 12" woofer!

For the price I don't think they can be beat. I only paid $114 shipped for mine and it does bump. Listening to some Prodigy I don't have to have it turned up much to rattle everything in the house. Plus in the room it's not annoying and the bass is tight and accurate for what I paid. It's a far cry from the one I do want, but great for the price.

Wow I may just have to pick one up. I've used Velodyne and Sony subs in the past and they were ok, but I'd really love an HSU or Outlaw Audio sub, neither of which I can afford right now. What is the one you want?

It's a Velodyne, sadly discontinued. I'd have to audition one of the new ones. I've heard the lower end ones and I wasn't impressed. The mid level are alright but the high end from them has always been awesome. Sadly, they cost of this one was about $1,500 at the time but it was some of the most accurate bass I had heard at the time. Sony just doesn't make good speakers, period, IMO. Doesn't matter though, I don't have the room that would need a sub of that magnitude.

Sunfire had a sub I head not too long ago that sounded on par but I bet that one is discontinued as well. All I know is that I need a Fry's here. We don't have any more big places but Best Buy and all their stuff isn't that good. I have to search around for small audiophile shops and hope they have any sort of selection.

Haha yea I agree about Sony. When I bought it I was a total audio noob and thought it sounded great. The Velodyne I had was pretty low end but it still blew the Sony away. I can't imagine what a high end sub would sound like. Someday!

my stepdads favorite all time car is a 70 GTX. i have tried to find a model of one locally but to no avail.

i take it you are a mopar guy...even with the 3Si gene and all.

friend actually owns a 97 GTS. its a sweet sweet car.

Yeah, I hear ya'. Everything but my HTPC is pretty much entry level stuff. No point it getting anything bigger until I have a bigger place.

I bought mine about 10 years ago when I was working for Target. I love older Mopars but I'm not a huge fan of a lot of their current cars. I'm just a car guy in general. You should see the list of cars I'd love to have. They come from all different manufactures. I love my Stealth too, but I'm I'm not looking forward to working on it.

You have the same Sony Wega TV that I do.

I have my Playstation 2 on the component inputs.

I have a 3-way S-video switcher with my SNES, Xbox, and my girlfriend's laptop all running to the S-video input.

I use my NES on a separate, older 19" TV with a single composit video and mono audio input.

What is the make/model of the new TV you're getting. What inputs (and how many of each type) does it have?

I do know that Target carries a dual system PS2/Xbox S-video cable where both systems will work without having to unplug one at a time unlike most so-called "universal" cables.

Definitely a sweet set up though.

It's been a good TV. I'm thinking of keeping it and using it for another rig just for the older systems not capable of at least 480p for when I move into a bigger place. The X-Box and the PS2 are on one of those component cables that they share. The 360 is also through component and TOSlink to the receiver. The rest are all composite through the switch to the receiver.

The new TV is a Samsung LN40B550 40" LCD. It has 4 HDMI, 2 component, 1 composite, 1 PC, 1 USB, and 1 optical out.

Yep, it's always clean. I'm a very organized person but I'm not OCD. However, being able to see the few cables you can in that pics annoys me and will be fix when I rewire for everything. It looks like I'm going to have to creative to make it all work.

It sounds like you already pretty much have a good way of arranging everything.

With exception of my NES, I prefer to have systems on S-video at minimum. I figure that my NES is perfect for the old 19" tv since there is one composite video out and one mono audio out on the NES to one input of each on the 19".

Since my receiver is one of those DVD changer/receiver in one systems, it only has a single audio input pair. I run my TV's audio out to that, and tend to play DVDs through my Playstation 2 more often than the changer. Thus, the PS2 got priority on the component input so I can at least get 480i resolution.

The XBox is capable of better graphics IMO than the PS2, but since I have fewer games for it and it doesn't play DVDs without the DVD kit, it's priority got bumped down to the S-video. I have a GameCube S-video cable that actually makes my SNES look great as well. Add my girlfriend's laptop S-video out and getting a switcher for the three on S-video was an easy choice.

I could probably get better audio with a new receiver capable of optical digital inputs for the XBox and PS2, but haven't gotten around to that upgrade since everything is already in Dolby Pro Logic II.
