When I was checking a topic, it kept opening new tabs. And when I got frantic, it opened up a new window! :? Whats up with that? It hasn't happened before...

Internet Explorer. Make sure that your shift ket isn't stuck first. I know it sounds dumb, but one time a problem similar to yours, and I come to find that the right shift key was stuck down somehow.
 
Firefox, blarharg! I would use it, but I got grounded from downloading things forever, because I downloaded a virus game.
 
Holy Crap Tool Bar Hell!!!

Remove all toolbars :lol then try again... ok... you don't have to do that.

I've never really seen that happen with a browser.

I think you can try re-installing IE 7... maybe that will help.
