This is the perfect example of what I'm talking about.

I dont see where it says all that content is on the disc...

That being said, some of the stuff in the Uncharted 2 edition isnt actually available to purchase just yet and I cant really see how they would have been able to fit all that stuff on the disc if it was already brimming with content.

I actually have I think all of the currently available DLC for Uncharted 2, lol. It was all so worth it and the stuff was never priced in unrealistic territory.

Skins and such really don't take up that much space.

True, but multiplayer packs do and this edition has quite a few. I'm trying to remember where but I've read that Uncharted 2 nearly fills the 50GB Blu-ray without all the extras.

The DLC includes is it 3 or 4 stages and another game mode as well. The game disc itself had to have been full for all that stuff thats on it.

Not really - they held all that stuff back from the disc so they could sell it for extra.

DLC is *always* held back from the disc. Fact.

That's not true. Take Super Street Fighter IV for example. There is a new costume pack coming out. There is no content on disc for any of these costumes. Hence why Capcom has to add a patch for them to be even visible for opponents that don't purchase the content. And then take the two new characters Yun and Yang. It took months for Capcom to even hint that these were gunna be the 2 new characters for SSFIV Arcade and soon going to be DLC for Home Consoles. Now unlike SFIV the year previous where T. Hawk and Deejay code was found in pirated copies of SFIV, there has been no code found whatsoever for the new costumes or characters. Thus proving your thesis: "DLC is *always* held back from the disc. Fact." To be false.

But anyway, I need to platinum UC2 sometime.

:lol

Well, technically it is held back by definition. But it doesn't mean that developers are able to fit everything onto a disc. If that were the case, games would not be released because they would constantly be finding things to add.

Get the main game out nice and polished. Then work on the DLC. Why hold back the main game from being released? DLC is completely optional anyways.

Let's take Left 4 Dead for example. Still being updated after 2 years. And not to mention, the DLC is free (at least on the PC, MS still needs to get their head out of their butt regarding this.)

I was going to mention L4D. When it came out, the Sacrifice did not exist. I doubt it was even being planned. There was no way it was withheld from the game. The players wanted more, and Valve gave it to them. Simple as that.

Well, if you guys want to continue to delude yourselves, it's fine with me, but pretty sad.

Right.

But how do you feel about Valve still supporting and producing extra content beyond the initial game for free? Would you call them greedy and trying to pull one over on the consumer?

You should learn that your opinion =/= fact

Yeah some games have had content they could have put in but they decided to sell it as DLC instead like MW2 or Yakuza 3.

But saying every company offering DLC is just greedy and are holding out on consumers without any facts or evidence is, well, stupid.

like for SSFIV, it's not like they had a list of characters they planned on putting in and then going down that list as soon as the game is released, if they did I'm sure we'd have new characters in there or for sale by now.

Lots of games have their features/contents listed on the box or you can look up what they have online. They have a set price for it and if they do more work to make more content why shouldn't they be paid for it?

Besides, *usually* no one MAKES you buy DLC. It's completely optional, most of the time. If you're opposed to it, don't buy it. But just because you don't, doesn't mean everyone who does is wrong.
