Valve bans the wrong players from Modern Warfare 2. Apologizes with free game.

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
Were you wrongfully accused of cheating and summarily banned from the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 recently? You weren't the only one. Valve's anti-cheat software goofed and they're offering free copies of Left 4 Dead 2 as an apology.

What if you already have L4D2? Or if you dont like L4D2. They ought to be offering a game of the players choice, or Steam credit or something along the lines of that.

That's what I'm saying. Yes, there are pitfalls to this system, but they weren't obligated to do anything. A free copy of L4D2 plus one to gift to a friend is a pretty sweet deal for being banned for a couple of days.
 
I don't think we're saying anything's wrong with a free game. Just saying it would be nice to have an option. That's all.
