Video Games In A Slump Lately?

Well, maybe it's just me playing the ultimate killer app of all time...but there just haven't been any great games since november/early december of last year? And nothing on the immediate horizon is impressing me either. Have they run out of ideas? heh.

If you don't consider God of War II a great game then you must be off your rocker Aprilsrain. But other than that I agree. We need a good multi-player shooter to come out, that isn't Halo 3.

Why not? Halo 3's gonna rock.

Anyways, I don't think games are in a slump. At least that's my opinion. Especially having a PS2, Wii, 360, and a DS Lite, I'll never be bored. God of War 2, Gears of War, Super Paper Mario, Animal Crossing. There's some pretty solid games comin out soon too.

I agree with Jack. I haven't played it yet, but God of War 2 is supposed to be great. And Super Paper Mario JUST came out for the wii.

Coming out over the next few months will be several very promising games. In a couple weeks, Pokemon Diamonod and Pearl will be coming out (not my thing, but a lot of people like it), halo 2's coming to the P.C, C&C 3 is coming to the 360, Mass Effect is coming in May or June, Half Life 2 Episiode 2 (worst title EVER) is in June, Ninja Gaiden is coming to the PS3 in June. Over the summer, Bioshock, Blue Dragon, Lair, Heavenly Sword, a Civ 4 expansion, and a Medieval 2 Total War expansion. Then, there are tons of huge games towards the holiday season.

Oh yeah! I totally forgot about Super Paper Mario. Comes out today. Mines waiting at the EB Games. Brawl's also supposedly coming out later in the year.

I don't think there is a slump. For me the issue is not that there's not games that I want (because there is), it's that I can't afford to buy them all. :p And even if I could I wouldn't have the time to play them.

It's weird that the best games lately have come from a handheld (DS) and a previous-gen console (PS2), at least in my opinion.

Its alsways slow this time of year and then picks about around the holiday season... for obvious reasons

I think this is the reason, but as for me personally there are a ton of games I want that I don't own yet.
