Has anyone else seen this? I saw it today and it is AMAZING! The only reason you might not like it is if you a) expected an action movie b) wanted a version truer to the original book/movie

The SFX are absolutely amazing. The ending irked me though, and there are some inconsistencies in the movie, but all in all I'd give it a 8.7/10.
 
I saw it last weekend at a drive in with Batman Begins.

This is a really good movie. I'm glad my 8 year old brother fell asleep during the beginning though, that would've been a disaster.

I didn't think the ending was that great though...I give it an 8.2/10
 
I saw it...........its pretty cool..........the only thing i didnt like is the sudden fakeness

i didnt like it when everything was all realistic like with the lightening and storms and stuff and all of a sudden this big alien thing comes popping out of the ground.......thats when it became unbelievable, but the rest of the movie was pretty good
 
But that is how it is supposed to be...In the book, it was quite similar. I mean, how would you rather had it happen?

From what I heard it was really close to the original book. And I definitly know that the ending was just like the book.

I didnt like how his son just ran off and we never heard from him again till the end. How did he survive? That part was actually pretty predictable. Plus how is Boston left untouched? Or at least that part of Boston? And I didnt think they needed the scene with Tim Robbins in the basement. It was really pointless.






Other than that it was great.

Yeah, his son surviving is what bothered me. At that part, when he was walking up to the house, I thought "Here is what may make this movie great." His son surviving was just too unrealistic for me. Also, given the explanation at the end of the movie and going off of what was said in the original book, the human military would have been able to beat the Martians easily. Simply put, the Martians died because of common germs we were immune to. That infers the fact a biological weapn would be more devestating than a nuclear weapon against the Martians. Just a thought.
 
I thoought it was a great movie cool sfx cool graphics,awesome story some crappy parts like the son not dieing and so on but it was an 8.9 /10!!! also was pretty close to the book which is always good.
