well... who is excited? Xbox 360 is released in a few days.

Pretty crazy... I cannot believe the current generation went so fast. I mean..... I remember getting my cube and 8-10 games before launch, and now we are already to the next generation of systems. time flies, no?

anyway, who is excited? Who is getting a system?

I saw call of duty on the 360, that looks pretty nice.

it kind-of stinks that everything is costing more now ....

I wonder if there will be a shortage... OR if there will be plentiful supply like the psp.
All the suppliers are stating shortage.... but I think it is a bunch of bs actually.

PLus, this year.... everyone is spending less... in everything down the line. Retailers aren't ordering as much stock for Christmas, I wonder how the more espensive systems will sell.

Couldn't agree more. I'd go out and get one if I had a spare $400 lying around. Maybe when my winter job comes around 'll get enough for one.

I have $400 to spare, and I want a 360, but I'm not keen on being in the 360 boat if the bottom falls out, if you know what I mean...
 
I do know what you mean. And the fact that they built the Xbox 360 to be changed (should they decide on the best high capacity disk format) in the future doesn't sound like I want an original, just to pay shipping to get the drive upgraded.
 
Im pretty excited for the 360 mainly because of the Need For Speed Most Wanted game, looks simply amazing on the console! What am I talking about? Mostly all the games on 360 look amazing. Anyways, Im still debating on getting on the console or not, its like I want to get it and I have a feeling that'll I'll regret that I got it, but I think Im going to end up getting it. I wish PS3 was being release at the same time as the 360 but instead we have to wait 'till the new year. I got to find out when its going to be released.
 
I agree with BV, this is just too soon. I almost completely forgot it was coming out in under a week. Which is surprising. I remember when the PS2/GC/Xbox came out there was nothing but commercials for the systems. I remember Xbox had an absolutely crazy media blitz for their console, but I haven't seen any adds for the 360, aside from promotional give-away ones.

The games do look fantastic, I admit, but better graphics are not worth the price they're asking for it. I'll probably pick up a PS3 or 360 once a couple price drops hit them. It's not the same as buying it the day it's released, or even shortly thereafter. I remember how excited I was when I finally had enough money to buy a GC about a month after it was released. I was so excited the night before I got one I stayed up till 3 in the morning playing C&C:RA cuz I couldn't sleep. With the 360, I almost just don't care. I really want to feel that excitement of buying a new console that none of my friends have, but for some reason I just don't.

I guess that's the long-winded way of saying, I'm not excited for the 360. Maybe once I see it popping up in a few more places and playing a game or two on it will change my mind, but for now I can easily do without.
 
I agree with stealth, especially now since there is a chance that your system will break down or have to send it to MS to update it. Which I think is ridiculous.
 
btw.... I was at best buy tonight, and they said that there will be a new emulator later on to play MORE games than the initial 100. But you know what REALLY REALLY REALLY sucks? In order to have the backplayability of those Xbox games (initial list of 100 games), you HAVE (yes, you HAVE TO) subscribe to Xbox live on the GOLD package supposively. HOW MUCH DOES THAT SUCK?!

I said, " but look at the PSP... that never sold out... and there was so much hype behind it." he said, "I think the 360 will sell out." I said, "you think it is going to sell out at $400? Or even the core at $300?.... it is too expensive." Of course, he didn't agree, but then again.. they are trying to push the 360 stuff and not give negative opinions.

I saw Best buy had PLENTY of games & accessories in stock on the shelf for the 360... they weren't out of anything. NOW, if it was SOOOOO popular and in demand... the games would be sold out as well as the accessories BEFOREHAND. Case in point, the Ps2 / cube / and Xbox launches all had shortages.

Another thing that the Best buy guy told me, "oh, you don't think that the 360 will sell out? people will have the money as we are offering financing (0% down until Jan or Feb)... and you think people will think twice signing the line?" I thought... oh man... that is somewhat try, but a lot of people aren't going to do that.

No, you do not have to subscribe to Xbox Live, Silver OR Gold to get the updates. They are free.

To play Halo 2 on Xbox Live, you will need a current Xbox Live or Xbox Live Gold account. To activate the “hi-res” modes of Halo and Halo 2, for Xbox Live members (either Gold or Silver members), just connect your Xbox 360 console to Xbox Live and insert an original Xbox game. The system will automatically check if you have the latest emulation software, download it to your Xbox 360 console as part of a system update if you don't, reboot, and start loading your original Xbox game.
Those who are not part of the Xbox Live network will be able to download the emulators from Xbox.com, and burn them onto a CD to insert into your Xbox 360 where it will auto-install the emulator. Or you can go to Xbox.com and simply sign up for a CD to be sent to your home for a nominal shipping and handling fee.

I dunno about that, when I worked in an electronics dept. I gave my honest opinion. I mean obviously I tried to promote the product, and if someone was interested in it I wouldn't knock it in any way, and instead focus on the pros not the cons sort of thing. But if someone ever asked me "do you think this is going to sell well" I'd tell them straight up yes or no. He might actually have seen a lot of interest in them. Hell, he might even be getting one himself.

I'm just sick of people not telling the truth about the 360 in an attempt to ruin its sales. Its not that I think BV was trying to do that, he is too cool for that (plus it wouldn't help his business :p) but some people are telling half truths and straight up lies about the 360. Whether or not you like Microsoft, the Xbox, or the 360, you shouldn't slander it just to be a jerk. I recall one guy at GameFAQs claimed that EGM gave every 360 launch title a 6 or less.
 
IT IS ALL ABOUT PROJECT GOTHAM 3. I also am looking forward to another Forza and Rally Sport Challenge if Xbox comes out with them. Ghost Recon is another one to look forward to.
 
It's insane and stressing me out at work to be honest with you all. I haven't slept well in days because I am consistly called into work even on my day's off...

Ridge Racer 6 arrived today at my store, looks very nice.
