What features would you like to see on this site? New features or features you have seen at other sites that you think would be cool to see at this site.

This is not limited to the forums either.

*Edit*
OK... this is how we are going to work this thread. State an idea.. and explain how you want to see it done... OR explain to others what your idea is. This way others can see and understand... and chime in.

Post it up!

Thanks,
BV :hat

2 hours and you want results now? *gets my coffee*..*sigh*

How about a fix for the post hiccups? Did you ever find out what's causing that when the same paragraph appears?

Yes and no. That will be coming soon though.

this thread is for new stuff and ideas.

Of course, of course.

I say the first thing we need to do is the news thread idea we've been tossing around. Like, how do we go about this?

Great idea, Mega! A news thread would reduce a lot of clutter, and just make it easier to keep track of updates and such. How about a news sticky in GD that covers all consoles/systems?

Also, I am sure it's been brought up, but the search engine here is...not so good. Sometimes I will search a word that is literally in the title of a current thread and get zero hits. Any way to refine that or include an advanced search feature?

Edit: Ooops, I see that we actually do have an advanced search feature! Maybe I just need to refine my brain :P

:lol I changed the search weights a little bit as well. This may help a little.

Notes are being taken. Don't be afraid to think bigger and more encompassing as a "whole" site. Forum ideas are great as well. and if you enjoy the site as it is... there is NOTHING wrong with stating that as well... OR stating things you like or would like to see more of.

Cool :) To be honest I can't think of many more changes. I guess I am on the side of liking the forum as it is.

IE www.egameaddiction.com/gameaddicts
www.egameaddiction.com
www.neogeocd.net
www.world9-3.com

Those are all places to look as well.

New polls would be nice. :)

Another thing I would like to see is some contests, even if the reward for winning is nothing but bragging rights.

Another thing I thought might be beneficial for the site, would be to feature an item from the EGA store and make a topic about it in the forums, maybe with a summary of the game and what not, to help fund the site. Just a thought.

I'm sure I'll be able to think of something else later, but that's all I got right now.

We've tried contests in the past but they did not turn out very well. Put it this way, many talked the talk, but only a couple actually walked the walk :lol

Has the active member size grown any since then? And Maybe it would be easier for people to do this when summer starts?

No I am sure there was more active members back than, but that is an idea about the timing thing...

The ability to post attachments. The ability to upload or link to your own avatar. Same thing for signatures, with a user enabled option to turn signatures off with each post, and a global option for each user to disable signatures if they don't like to wait for them to load. The ability to embed youtube videos within a post. All users should have the ability to make a poll. A better PM system that actually tracks sent messages and keeps copies of them, can assign read receipts to messages, and can be easily sorted by users.

To be perfectly honest, I highly recommend switching over to vBulletin Version 3.6.12, as it is very easy to configure and control on a global level. Admins and global mods can set permissions for each user group and assign them accordingly. Saves a lot of time when setting up "special privileges" type sub-forums....which leads to my last suggestion.

A buy/trade/sale thread that is available to any posters meeting the set requirements. Suggested requirements would be at least 100 posts and being a member of the board for at least 6 months. Feedback threads are optional, but recommended. We have a setup like this over at the Transformers forum I run, and it works smooth as a baby's bottom.

I know I sound like a broken record, but I think that a slot devoted to member's reviews and cheats and glitches(if any.) about any given game would be neat.I can't speak for the other members, but I do certainly hold my fellow member's opinions and tricks with respect to games in higher regard than IGN and Gamefaqs.

On top of that, being a small forum, members come to learn a lot about other members with respect to personality and taste in games. So who better to ask? Those other forums such as Neoseeker are incredibly huge. They do not contain the same "Family" type element that we do.

If someone in this forum came across a glitch in a game, the whole forum would know by the next day.The smallness of this forum has wicked advantages. If Dart for example came across a cool glitch during his gaming hours everyone would care and respond much faster. In a huge forum such as Neoseeker it wouldn't get half the attention it does here.

Once again,just a thought.

Godspeed.

I like this idea a lot, I'd like to see a board devoted to gaming tips and such.

I'm running the risk of sounding like an amateur gamer, but I was wondering if it's possible for the forum to have it's own "Toolbar".It doesn't have to be exclusive to this forum.I think if other sites notice our toolbar it serves as good advertising for us as well.

Just a thought.Don't lynch me if it sucks. :D

God Bless.
