Hello All!

In your opinion, what major changes to video games do you think we will see 10 or 15 years from now?

i think that we will have it to the point where it will look so close to real life its not even funny

Like your actually in the game

I think that it will peak at some point and we will return to our roots. We will return to simplicity and maybe hand drawn graphics.

Actually, it seems that alot of graphics appear hand drawn these days, but aren't actually at all.

I reckon that, considering how close it is, game COULD in the next 15 years, likely more, become Virtual Reality. The rate of technology is increasing faster and faster each year, and we all get to be a part of it.

i see it happening in 10 years

thats me personally
Virtual reality is already here its just EXTREMELY costly and not that good lookin
ten years down the road though...

Which is why it could be many more than ten due to prices. They wouldn't really start brining video games into it until it is able to be made to fit the average joe's wallet.

yeah i know man
they got huge machines over at places like dave and busters which isnt exactly virtual reality but i think its a start

I really don't see the Virtual thing unless there are some great strides in developing it for the TV first. If it is just for consoles, it will mostly be a helmet. My responce to that would be yuk. When I think of Virtual, I'm thinking of sitting in my living room and watching the helicopter fly over my head while a car drives by in front of me.

But I really do see a return to simple pick up and play gaming in some form. The busy lifestyles of people will demand it. It is hard to get into something deep when you are on the run.

Man i cant play games right now...it sucks

but anyway...

I do thnk that there could be virtual reality because its not like video games are gonna be the only thing that advances in the world

tvs will grow bigger and thinner and cheaper all at the same time

till it just ends up being some kind of like not a tv and is projected like...in Wall-e

Now that would be a great time for technology.
... so long as it doesn't cost too much.

But if they were projected like in Wall-e, then, that'd be very close to Holographic Renderings which would be quite close to "Virtual" due to one being able to see the objects in their 3d form in our 4d world, and not simply on a flat-world based screen format.

:lol

In other words, you'd be able to see the image in a full 360' degree viewing no matter where you are standing. The only step from there to virtual would be sensors that stimulate a certain aspect of those watching/playing, making the image seem real. Virtual Reality is a similar thing, except it'd be an image secluded to the goggles (or so far large novelty helmet) with an image that is viewed like one would a 3d movie, with the sensations applied as they would as mentioned before and in the link I gave earlier.

It would be like us in a suit with sensors that show if we been shot and makes us know where and makes it to the point where we are like...

in the games...

*faint*

I don't think people with heart conditions would be allowed to use virtual reality simulators, based upon what imagery it is using... probably cause a lot of deaths.
