I find Advil works pretty good for me.I'm certain Demerol would be more than effective, but there is no way in hell my doctor will give me that with my past history. :lol

Oh I won't even mess with hardcore pain killers. Even after I had surgery and was in relentless pain I refused them. Too addictive! In the rare case I need something like for a headache I take 2 Ibuprofen and it works pretty good. What is in pain if you don't mind me asking?

It's a little embarrassing, but yesterday I ate something that didn't agree with me,and I ended up vomiting big time which took it's toll on my lower back from the muscle tension from heaving.

Ah nothing to be embarrassed about! Sounds like a muscle strain or spasm. Maybe you could try putting something warm on your back for a while like a warm towel or heating pad? That works for me usually.

Where's the "Icy Hot" when you need it eh?

I take about 3-4 Tylenol PM whenever I'm hurting. (I have problems with my neck. :P ) and even if it don't start the pain, it puts me out like a light. Immediate pain relief. :D

Nothing.

Well, I guess I can't say that as morphine still does the trick. Not that I want to be on morphine for a head ache. I've tried all the hardcore pain meds and they barely take an edge off the pain. Plus, I don't get any of the euphoric side effects.

What a crock!

As for the lesser pain killers, Tylenol is the only one I'm allowed to take and it does nothing.

No euphoric side effects? That's a gip eh?

2 tylenol extra strength (ive got a high BMI). and when i need to sleep as well...1 tylenol pm (500mg of tylenol and 25mg of dramamine or something like it) and one regular ES tylenol.

I have a class on human sexuality at the moment, and we were talking about the female reproductive system. I don't want to cause any trouble on the forum here or anything, but my professor (who is a man) said the single best remedy for menstrual pains is a chemical found in marijuana. Queen Victoria swore by it.

I just found that interesting.

Marijuana seems to have quite a slew of positive side effects, however I think most people just abuse it too easily which is why it gets such a bad rep.

It does get a bad rap, kind of like Great White sharks after the movie "Jaws" was released. That certainly didn't help the shark's rep out any. They should legalize marijuana, they have bigger fish to fry like meth and heroin, and the rapidly rising pain killer abuse problem.

I'd like to know if said instructor actually referenced any reliable sources on that. Not that I want to open a debate on that particular topic, but either reliable studies on that don't exist, or those arguing from that stance can never remember them for some strange reason. ::)

But, as that is an illegal/controlled substance in the U.S., let's move the conversation back to LEGAL and SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE pain medications.
