Which Do You Think Was Better,"Star Wars" Or "Lord Of The Rings"?

I was watching the movie "Clerks II" earlier for the millionth time and noticed a neat little debate between the fast food restaurant employee and a customer about which movie was better,"Star Wars" or "Lord Of The Rings".What's your pick?

I love the part at the beginning when Dante slides up the security door of the convenience store only to be met by huge flames! :lol
 
Never saw Star Wars but I am pretty sure it would not top LOTR for me. Pretty sure nothing ever will.
 
Oh snap...major brain fart...I thought it was Star Trek. Of course I have saw Star Wars lol. But yea, still don't top LOTR. Sorry.
 
Could it not be argued that if George Lucas had access to today's technology that "Star Wars" would've have been much better?Peter Jackson had more to work with.No?

Did the movie do the 3 original books and Tolkien justice,or did they take out a bunch of the stuff from the books?Perhaps added a few things? :)
 
Star Wars hands down. And btw KAZ, Lucas has great technology. *looks at revenge of the Sith* Yeah, A jedi could so kick a hobbit's... butt. xD
 
But...but...I build computers...That should count for something towards my nerdom :P

Edit: And I also use Linux!

I guess what I meant was that if George Lucas had the technology of today back in the 70's or 80's when the first Star Wars came out it would have been even more impressive. :)
