Which Do You Think Was Better,"Star Wars" Or "Lord Of The Rings"?

I guess what I meant was that if George Lucas had the technology of today back in the 70's or 80's when the first Star Wars came out it would have been even more impressive. :)

Godspeed.

Possibly, but i like the way it is. Even if it looked more realistic, it wouldn't be the same.

But...but...I build computers...That should count for something towards my nerdom :P

Edit: And I also use Linux!

Linux doesn't always make you nerd. Most of the time it leads to elitism. Not saying you are, I just deal with alot of people around me are.

That stinks. It's a clip from "That 70's Show" where the characters go to see "A New Hope" in theaters.

Actually, because of the last three Star Wars movies, I think I'm gonna switch my vote to LotR. Ewoks (ok they were in Episode VI but they still suck), Jar Jar, Hayden Christenson's AWFUL acting. They ruined Star Wars for me. :P

Did you see that episode where Red and Kelso modified their console to make "Pong" more of a challenge? :lol

Indeed I did, but I think we are getting a little off topic. Perhaps you should make a That 70's Show topic, for I do not have the time to do so tonight. =P

Did the movie do the 3 original books and Tolkien justice,or did they take out a bunch of the stuff from the books?Perhaps added a few things? :)
I love the books and I like the movie. Movies can never top a book in my opinion. The book stimulates your imagination and brings a pleasure that is not experienced in a movie. Really a movie is based on the elements and story line of a book and a lot of the time only creates a shadow of the real thing. At least that is that way I feel about both mediums of entertainment when they collide.

Star Wars. Lord of the Rings was epic, sure, but nowhere near as influential as Star Wars was.

What? I'm confused. Are you guys talking about Peter Jackson's LOTR, or Tolkien's actual LOTR? Are we comparing stories, franchises, movies, or what?

I don't consider the PJ's movies to be LOTR at all, and when comparing the majesty, influence, and pedigree of the LOTR books to George Lucas' cookie cutter (yet delightful) space hero story, there still is no comparison.

LOTR, hands down. Star Wars is good, I like it, but LOTR is just in another league entirely.

Now if you're comparing SW to PJ's LOTR, that's a different story (both the comparison and the movie version of the books).

Let's get specific here people!
