Because some idiot wanted to be cute when they posted up the scan so they photo-shopped the line and circle in. XD

Earthbound, or maybe the original Mother seems the most likely here.
 
Mother and Mother 2 on VC, Mother 3 being ported to DS? Prease?

Yeah it look like a 10 year old did it. If you rotate the picture 90 degrees to the right, it looks near identical to the Mother moon.

And the lines are red. And there's two of them. With a circle in the middle. Bad circle. Stupid photoshop. :lol

They said Golden sun as well... I don't see it, but another member at that other site said it looks like the Weyard Map in Golden Sun.

Speculation...

I don't know if it will be Mother or not... but that would be very cool.

The only thing is that it's not distinctive enough... even though it does look like it. The form on the land just doesn't look as close. The colors do.

but I would say it is one of these games:
Castlevania (I thought this too when I first saw it)
GoldenSun (From Suggestions)
Mother (from suggestions)

Other games that have had a prevalet moon:
Ninja Gaiden (#1... the moon light duel)

Other Ideas that came to mind... I don't know why... when I 1st saw the moon:
