..And why?

Basically I'm looking to download some, but I want to know which ones are actually worth buying, and what makes them worth buying. So please suggest your favorites and give a brief description of what makes it an awesome game! Thanks in advance :)

Lost Winds is fun, and I assume the new Lost Winds is good as well, although I havent played it yet.

This is from IGN, which sums it up very accurately.

LostWinds is a game about wind -- specifically, harnessing the power of the wind with your Wii remote. You play as Toku, a villager charged with the task of saving the island Mistralis from a great evil. The dark figure Balasar threatens to spread his control like a plague over the island and it's up to you -- with the aid of a wind spirit named Enril -- to stop him. The title's simple backstory is told via static, stylized art pieces and continued through in-game dialog with characters. The tale, which is not exceptionally original, exists solely as a means to guide you forward as you attempt to collect pieces of the wind spirit scattered throughout the land.

The game's presentation, however, is altogether remarkable, especially when you consider that Frontier has squeezed everything into a relatively small download. LostWinds plays like a 2D platformer -- you move Toku from left to right or vice versa, as well as up and down -- but features full 3D foregrounds and backdrops. The environments are beautiful, featuring lush greenery with interactive vegetation (if you point over trees and flowers with the Wii remote, the wind will blow through them); there's a well-used depth-of-field blur, reflections and transparencies, detailed particle and lighting effects (fire, which is interactive, looks great); and lots of bloom -- the latter is probably overused, but it looks so natural that you won't care. In addition, the title runs in both 480p and 16:9 widescreen display modes and outputs a truly serene, atmospheric soundtrack highlighted by flute solos and peaceful background noises like chirping birds.

Well I downloaded Lost Winds and it seems pretty cool. I didn't spend more than maybe half an hour playing it though, but it just didn't grab me the way I'd hoped it would. Maybe if I give it more of a chance next time I play it. I ended up playing Dr. Mario RX Online a lot longer actually, mostly because me and my wife love to compete against each other on puzzle games, too bad they don't make an updated version of Magical Drop :D

Cave Story- Great metroid-ish game. You could always check out the old freeware one for PC too :3

Muscle March because of the zaniness :P

Another one I enjoyed was FFCC:My Life As A King. The fact that you never get to find takes away from the game, instead, you have to train your warriors by building training buildings, weapons and armor shops, and providing the warriors families with a home before you can send them out to fight for you. I like to build my own cities, and I kinda like being able to train my warriors, I just wish there was a way to fight alongside them.
And FFCC:My Life As A Darklord is fair as well, though nothing like MLAAK. You basically build your tower and spawn monsters strtegically to keep the King's warriors out. The object of this game is the exact opposite of My Life As A King, where you try to conquer the monsters. In Darklord, you try to conquer the King and his warriors.
