who has been watching E3???

Tank.of.AH

gotta love the music!
I watched Ubisoft most of Playstation and a little bit of Nintendo and Microsoft and i have to say.

WAY TO GO UBISOFT!!! Assassins Creed looks amazing!!! amazing graphics and game play!!! can't wait :) :rockin :woot

Yeah, it would be nice if someone could boil it down for me. I didn't follow it at all because of a shoddy internet location and wonky work schedule, and I took a quick cruise through the official thread, but I've got one question remaining:

What were all the big news items that came out of E3?

I know Battlefield 3 is a big deal, but I have no idea what else has got buzz on it after E3. What should I check out to get an idea about what I missed.

Assassins creed was the huge announcement from Ubisoft. Nintendo was kind of dull, you didn't miss much, didn't see Microsoft and PS3 is focusing on 3D gaming!

Far Cry 3 was messed up. As I watched the trailer I was just like O_O
And when it finally ended, I didn't know whether to laugh or be disgusted. Were the first games as messed up as that trailer? lol

I didn't have my sounds on for it, but I watched it live and was like "this has to be Far Cry 3".
Was sooo happy when they showed the title. :D

I love Far Cry 2. Far Cry 1 is okay. Way too difficult. :P

I hear that. Far Cry 2 was a near perfect game for me. What was really annoying was the random enemies and the fact that no matter how many people you murdered in a single spot there would always be more the next time you rolled through. Also, and this is classic Far Cry, every enemy has supersonic hearing and telescopes for eyes. I'd peep my head over a hill to look at a village in a valley 2 miles off and bullets would start whizzing past my head.

But aside from that, it was one of my favorite games, and an excellent example of an open world FPS. I'm hoping the few complaints I had with it will be remedied in the sequel.

They really try to emulate the "Blood Diamond" vibe. So yeah, a little insanity is in there on purpose.

Good call on Far Cry 3. Anything else worth checking out?

Yeah, Far Cry 2 is nearly a perfect game.
The ambiance is just so nice, as well as everything else.

The respawning enemies was a bit annoying, but I don't know why you had trouble with people noticing you.

I could just about sneak up a few feet behind someone and kill them with a headshot before they saw me.
Difficulty setting, maybe? (Can't remember right now whether 2 had a setting for that)
I loved going to the Oasis parts of the map and doing a mission there. So fun.
I almost don't like that FC3 is going to be tropical again. African was great, but a little too bland, I guess.

My highlights of E3: (Kind of in order)

Battlefield 3
Wii U
Far Cry 3
Uncharted 3 gameplay and info
Zelda 25th Anniversary stuff
Modern Warfare 3

Nothing (much) else is coming to me…

Of course there were the few Nintendo games: Luigi's Mansion 2, Star Fox 64 3D (Can't wait. :D) and a few others.

Oh, and of course TLoZ: Skyward Sword and TLoZ: OoT3D. ;)

That is a good point about people in the game noticing me. I guess I just got frustrated rolling into enemy camps, firing one shot from a distance, and having the entire camp spot me simultaneously and start firing. There were things you could buy that would make you "sneakier," like silenced weapons and a camo suit. I bought those as soon as I could hoping they would abet my enemies' super sensorial abilities, but even with those I still felt way too vulnerable.

Respawning enemies were far more annoying, and the fact that everyone I ran into, even before I did anything at all with my weapons, assumed I ought to be shot on the spot was really frustrating. As a merc who supposedly knew how to deal with "these types" it didn't really seem reasonable for the entire country to be alert to my exact whereabouts and intentions all the time.

But aside from that, I totally agree with everything you said. Rolling around Africa was the shizzle for rizzle. I really wished you could smoke in that game because so many climax points in levels made me want to stand up against my jeep/a tree/amidst the rubble of whatever I just blew up and savor the moment by lighting up. Few games make me feel that cool.

Thanks for the E3 tips, I think I'll check out some Uncharted 3 stuff asap.

The respawning enemies were very annoying sometimes. Not only that, but as you said, how they knew you were always around and thought you should die at first sight without even firing a shot, getting too close to them or anything. I guess that's just the way the game is, though. :P

Haha, yeah, those moments are awesome. I love blowing up a truck I'm supposed to eliminate, neutralizing the escorts and looking at the beautiful fire spreading all around. (even in the trees :D) Great atmosphere. ^^

Yeah, Uncharted 3 is going to be awesome!

Far Cry 1 was extremely difficult but fun. the second one was decent as well. when i watched the trailer for the third one, i was very unimpressed with the whole thing. therefore, i will probably not purchase the game.
