Why can't I play an online game with random people anymore?

Segatron Genesis... call me the wizard.
Every time I get bored and find out everyone is playing another game that I don't have on PSN, XBL, or Steam. I decide to play a game that nobody else owns because I'm in the mood for that. Yet, for some silly reason I decide to make a room to invite a random players into it. Which turns into a complete train wreck with lag issues, poor sportsmanship, and downright unbearable. I'm more comfortable playing online with people I know or talk to. I just wish everyone was as cool as you guys on EGA and my friends in real life. Yet I can't get no, SATISFACTION! HEY HEY HEY! That's what I say!

How do you guys do it? I know Grind and Spartan makes all these cool friends time after time on Steam. I'm just not the type to trust people that easily until I get to know them.

Well, the people that play online randomly either A)Are bored and want to play a certain game (Like You, Mega) or B)They suck so horribly or are such horrible players that they have no friends and therefore must play with random people. Generally anyway. I usually stick to single player stuff If I dont have any friends. Something you might want to do, for steam gaming at least, find a server with a few friendly people, and play on it most of the time. I've made a bunch of friends just by becoming a regular on a CSS ATF server.

story of my life...I rarely play on-line games due to the fact that i can't stand people in them, i love to play with friends i know because i at least know what i am in for and i know friends would not behave like kindergarden kids

On Left 4 Dead or CSS, I would join public servers, but often switch servers because I didn't like the atmosphere.

Occasionally, I am having a good night, am relaxed, perhaps drinking an adult beverage, and get chatty on the mic. If you can play a game and actually enjoy just talking to people, that seems to be when the growing list happens.

Depends on the game. In SSFIV I recently saw an increase of friends on PSN because they were friendly and were already friends with Snatcher. Back in the day on CS I would find servers where the atmosphere was friendly and just be friendly myself. Halo is different though. Actually it's XBL in general. Back in the day on Halo 2, DoA, Ghost Recon and Burnout everyone was so friendly (for me at least) that it was really easy to befriend people online, so friendly that I actually hit the limit of friends that you could have. Nowadays I just play XBL lone wolf style.

Yeah SSFIV has some nice people. Spent like 2 or 3 hours just now playing a new friend in endless and was loads of fun :D

Well Mega I done much online gaming but from what I saw from Halo 3 it seems there alot of jerks who fall into one of 2 categories immature idiots and pyscho losers who take the games way to seriously which is why I have no real desire to game online. Because if you ain't having fun what's the point of gaming really it's not like your accomplishing anything of any real importance it's entertainment for pete's sake.
