Why me ;_;

Well, it happened.

The story? Read on.

So, I got my own 360 two months ago. I was leery about it for awhile because of RRoD's/E74's, but after seeing our family's 360 last for years now without a single hiccup, I went ahead and did it. To save some cash, I ended up getting a 360 refurbished from a guy who fixes broken RRoD's. I ended up getting a full 20gb 360 with a controller and cables for $165, which is awesome -- and until last week, it worked like a charm. About a week ago, games started taking longer to load, the dashboard started freezing, and I started to notice glitches in-game. Last night, though, was the end of it. I was playing Call of Duty 4 online, when all of a sudden the dreaded black lines appeared on my screen. I knew it was E74 -- it happened to a friend of mine.

My game froze, so I had no choice but to reboot, knowing exactly what would show up on-screen. And, sure enough, there it was -- one red line on the Ring of Light, and the dreaded E74 error screen.

What makes this all confusing is that the 360 didn't have warranty, as the guy I bought it from had opened it up in order to fix the RRoD previously, so my Microsoft warranty was screwed. But, the guy I bought it from was awesome enough to offer a full refund. We ended up working it out so that I get to keep the hard drive, and he'll deduct $30 which seems like a nice deal to me. So I'll be getting a $135 refund, and I've got enough cash right now to grab a brand-new 360 Arcade. Right now, I only have two questions I gotta work out -- 1. Do these oft-discussed "new motherboards" for the 360 appear in the new Arcades? And 2. Does GameStop sell the Arcade bundle that comes with that Sega game + 5 Arcade games? :p

E74 is covered by the 3 year warranty bro :) Free Repair!! Yet, the Arcade bundle? I don't even know if they sell those anymore, since I thought they were just for Holiday 08'.

Yeah, I wish I could get that free repair, but --

Aww, that would suck about the bundle being just for Holiday 08. :( Walmart.com has it, but I'd have to order online and I really don't wanna wait lol.

That guy whom you bought it from? Punch him in the face. He deserves it. When I see a moron open up a newer system because they think they're Mr. Wizard. Should jump off a bridge. Older system? It's okay to open, since it's out of warranty. Newer? No, let the companies handle it.

However, check your local GameStop/Wal-Mart or which ever. I'm sure they have may have something for you.

How do we know it was a newer system? He bought it refurbished.

I recommend saving up some more money and get one of the elite bundles.

Well, he's been doing it for awhile... and it all worked out great. It used to have RRoD, and he fixed it... but E74's different... it would've happened even if he hadn't repaired RRoD...

@Creepin'. Oh I know...I can smell his fear..he's guilty I tell ye!.... ::D He bought it with the blood of the living dead 360's!!!

@Kirby. Great news, the Arcade Bundles with Sega Tennis game are still in stock! I just got back from Best Buy! :)

I wish I could save up, but I kinda want to get one right away. :P

Update -- I just sent in my 360 today. Yowch @ Priority shipping... $25 if I wanted to ship it Priority, or $20 to send it normal (and have it take 9 days according to the guy at the post office >_<). I just went with the $5 extra.

You should have sent it UPS bro, you could have saved $12-15 :(

Yeah... but it would've taken longer, lol xD I've got some friends coming over this weekend on Sunday -- if I can get a new 360 by then that would be great.

I'll keep that in mind, though... man it's expensive :P

Weird, because normally they ask you to print out a free UPS shipping label. I know Microsoft has asked me to do that twice before (I'm on my 7th Xbox 360)

Remember... I'm not sending this to Microsoft. The seal's broken on it, so the guy I bought it from is taking it back for a full refund, which I'll then be buying an Arcade with.

I spotted one today at Best Buy :D

Well, I got the money through PayPal... but there's another issue...

Turns out that it takes 3-4 days to transfer funds electronically from Paypal to my bank account, so I have to wait until Thursday. >_<_>_<_<_<_<_><__<>
