Wifi problem

So I reinstalled Windows XP on my mom's laptop, since she couldn't get on her user and she just wanted a clean install. Well got that done. Then I go to install all the drivers, that's all good. Restart the computer expecting to have everything ready and then I notice that the WiFi isn't even recognizing. I go to the Resource CD that I got from Dell when we first got the laptop and the driver for the network card isn't even on it. I then download the newest driver for it on my computer and it still doesn't work. Is there any easy solution for this that doesn't require me to call tech support?

I had that problem in my laptop, but after replacing the wireless card, we found that the motherboard was faulty. :lolĀ  So after buying it I was without it for a few weeks.

It's not even that Hines, it's that the laptop itself doesn't have the drivers for the wireless card and the laptop isn't accepting the drivers when I manually install and restart.

Just for me, double check and make sure that the wireless is actually turned on on the laptop. Like the switch or whatever. Because I spent about 5 hours one day thinking that my wireless was broken and I didn't have the drivers and stuff and then I realized I turned off the switch on the side of my laptop and forgot about it. :p
