Are you taking preorders yet BV? I know places like Gamestop are, provided you trade-in 250$ worth of games (what's up with that :-\)

Looks like it has begun. Im not surprised since they rely mostly on their resale than new releases.

Actually, that was only a test-run they did in Hawaii, and you only had to trade in $50 worth of games.

Not trying to sound like I'm sucking up to the company I work for, but honestly it's not that bad of an idea. Someone who actually has $50 worth of games to trade is probably a true gamer, and therefore is not as likely to just be pre-ordering the system to sell on eBay.

At any rate, it was only a test that they were doing, and we haven't heard anything about it here in the rest of the company. So I'm not sure whether they are going to do that for all of the other stores.

Wouldn't a true gamer keep their games for collection/nostalgia/bragging purposes instead of trading them in for 10% of what they are actually worth?

I don't really know what a true gamer would do, so this wasn't intended to be sarcastic, it's just a thought...

Not necessarily. I consider myself a true gamer, but I don't hesitate to trade in games I've already finished in order to get a new game that I don't have actual money to get.

Yeah. All of my trade-ins are simply financial decisions. They resell value sucks horribly (once I got $0.75 for a game) but it beats having to shell out more hard cash.

You know, if it's fairly new game, or one that is wanted by other people, you should at least try to seel it to your friends first, casue seriously, trade-ins price are whack.

I've never liked trading in stuff. My hopes get too high and I end up bitter after the who ordeal. That and I am a collector as well as a gamer.

So when I walk into a videogame store, and they ask if I could bring in my old games to trade in for new, my standard response is, 'Not likely."
