Wish me luck people! (Killzone 2 related)

In Killzone 2's multiplayer, there's ribbons the Killzone team said some people will NEVER get...these are being in the top 10%, 5%, 3%, and 1% of all players around the world. They reveal this at the end of each week. Apparently you'll be rewarded with an "in-game visual to designate themselves as top soldiers."

I'm really excited for this, because as of now, I'm within the top 2,700 players. Other experienced friends of mine are up in the 100,000's and 200,000's. I just need to keep playing to maintain and get into the 1 percentile. This is the first online reward I've ever really been into, so I'm going to give this one my best. If I get the 1% ribbon which is "General of the Army", it will probably be one, if not THE biggest accomplishment of my gaming career. :)

Strubes... remember when I said you had a target to meet by playing 2 days constantly...
... well... it's now 6 months...

I wish you the luck of the gaming gods on your legendary mission to obtain this prestigious award!

Thank you buddy. :lol

I'm currently in the top 1% as we speak..though I'm playing as much as I can tonight so tomorrow won't hurt too bad (gotta work all day).

I'm climbing on up! I'm now within the top 1,700 players worldwide. I'll definitely be getting in the 1% if I keep up this pace. :D

Also you have to figure in that as the game has been out more people are more likely to play it online. Meaning it'll be easier to obtain.

How do you figure that?

More people = easier? I was talking to Strubes the other day and he was offline for like 8 hours and he dropped in rank by about 900 or so.

I thought that at first too, but the top 1% is so competitive because of all the new people coming in..meaning that more people can be in the top 1%...however, that means that more and more people are going insane trying to maintain their top 1% rank. I'm afraid to check my rank...I was at work for 6 1/2 hours.

EDIT: I'm sitting at 2,936. I'm gonna start grinding so I can be sure I'm in. I figure the highest rank out of my friends is 300,000 something, so if I keep under 3,000 I'll be golden.

Let's say a game has a million players online. 1% of a million is 10,000. As far as I know KZ2 has sold over 750,000. As more people go online the number of people for the top 1% have a chance of breaking into it.

But also, the number of competitive players trying to maintain that 1% increases as well, making it exceptionally hard. When I left for work I was 1,205. 6 n a half hours later I dropped 1,700 spots.

Though I agree that there's more people who can get in, cause it's a fact...however, the level of competition only grows along with it.

Well, you're still hanging in there! So if you keep your pace (and better if you can harness it), you will remain within the 1% range you require... how much longer do you need to hold out to get the award you desire?

Ah, you're talking about everybody. I was looking at it from Strubes's point, and I'm sure he's not liking that he drops 1,700 spots in a matter of hours, lol.

Yeah, what the crap. Now, I'm gonna check after I slept...dear god save me.

Confucius say; All work and no play puts you further down the ladder, SO PLAY HARDER!

Yoda say; Game long, play hard, Mmmm.

lol I'm on it! After playing a couple hours last night, I'm back down below 2,000...so I'm sitting at a really good spot. Just gotta keep playing!

Funny thing is, I haven't WANTED to stop at all yet.

Got it! Oh, and Frodus, I forgot to mention, it's for the week, not all time. So it makes it immensely tough.

But, I got it. :D

This game is like crack. Seriously Strubes, I'll get you into rehab for this, it's no problem for me. :lol
