Xbox 360 Price Cut Late 2006

A ton of websites I've been looking through have been stating that the Xbox 360 will have a price cut already later this year!

Maybe by $100? That'd be nice. :lol

why would they have a price cut already? Is that an indication that sales suck?

Look how long it took the PS2 to price drop.. the PSP hasn't even cut the price yet. The DS did ($25), but that was a move to compete more (put the hurt on) with the PSP.

The Xbox took a long time to make it's 1st price drop as well..... so why is the 360 cutting prices arleady? Their supply hasn't even caught up! I can't get any 360's.... and I don't see any store with 360's in stock.... EXCEPT the core units.

I think one site said they were gonna do it (or believed so) to help for when the PS3 comes out.

And probably to help offset the cost of the HD-DVD drive if they plan to add that expansion.

I don't care why or how ( Actually I do care how, it should stay a top quality machine) as long as they drop the price. That's always a good thing for us consumers.

MS has said the HD-DVD addon will be for movies only. Well, I suppose, media only.

They are not dropping the price of the 360. Wishful thinking, but won't happen until E3 of 2007.

I still find it hard to believe especially with the PS3 costing around $499.99. Their $399.99 price tag still looks good. But, hey, if they do that will be great for us. I just do not see it happening until 2007 when there is competition.

I see it happening. Especially since that's when the PS3 is supposed to come out. What better way to take away some of Sony's thunder than by a price cut.

The PS3 possible release would be the main reason I'd figure for a price drop. I think I'll wait to see what happens.

only problem is that they still haven't ramped up production or whatever.... the supply is still lagging. How much worse is the supply problem going to be with a price cut?

Haha I can see that happening...

"well today on the news...XBOX 360 PRICE DROP!....only one problem..we have to wait a year to see more. On to more important news, Sega's upcoming game system called "ALL YOUR COUNTRY ARE BELONG TO US" is slated for release in late 2008"
