You know what grinds my gears?

You are correct but because we're speaking specifically about Todd McFarlane, you are also wrong. Since Todd's main creation was Eddie Brock's Venom. And whenever anybody speaks about Venom, 99% of the time it's the Eddie Brock version, which is the longest running and most recognizable. Which makes the connection with him even stronger than Carnage or Toxin combined.

Ok you got me there. I was moreso going along as the whole series where I spent more time with Green Goblin's and Venom's Sinister Twelve version of Venom (Gargan).

I see. I haven't really read that series. Just the thought of Gargan being Venom just doesn't sit well with me. One day I'll read it though.

People who complain about graphics over gameplay. Big debate here, but here's the deal. If the game turns out to be amazingly fun and great, but the graphics aren't superb, does it effect the score? At times, yes sadly. Prime example, the reviews for Mega Man 9. Why did some of the critics give the graphical score a 2 or 3 when they knew it was done on purpose? YET it did not effect the overall score. Still, they went out of their way to make the review as belittled as possible over such a silly matter imho.

Diet programs that are loony as Mickey Rooney, such as the South Beach Diet. Eat only 20 non-salted peanuts in-between meals? You're a sick sick man Mr. South Beach!

13. Agree or Disagree.

White dudes who talk like Ganstas still. Okay, Back in 1991, I could understand Vanilla Ice, but 17 years later when I see a white dude who's paler than ME, painted in tattoos, a due-rag, and more bling than a christmas tree, and talking like he's from Queens New York, it's time to hit the curb and face reality, "cutty".....WERD 2 YO MUTHA!

14. Agree or Disagree.

Parent's who still buy their kids violent video games, yet when you try to explain to the parent why the game is so bad, you find out that the parent cannot understand English. Example: My co-worker, Hylian tried to explain why GTA is bad, when a 8 year old boy tried to buy it, I over hear the conversation while I'm helping another customer, and realized the little boy is lying is Spanish to his father, who cannot speak english. A message to member, Hylian: here's what the boy translated to his father. "It's not really that bad, we play it over at Jesse's house all the time." What a great excuse to deny the 7 dirty words and sexual content :)

People who complain and avoid LittleBigPlanet, Kirby SuperStar, Animal Crossing, Tales of Symphonia and other games because they are TOO KIDDISH or "TOO GAY" in the words of a hillbilly. Here at EGA we appreciate fine, masterpieces of games. Yet in the Average American male consumer's eye, it's too fruity. Not really anything we can do about it, since they rather play Call of Duty World at War, than Tales of Vesperia.

People who complain about Overhead shooters Vs. First Person Shooters. "IT HAS TO BE OVERHEAD OR NOTHING ELSE!" I've had 6 customers yesterday whine about this. They don't like First Person Shooters, so they pass on a fantastic game like, LEFT 4 DEAD. I guess some people are near-side or far sided? You be the judge, but if you can't play a first person shooter, you have to be suffering from vertigo dizzy spells or else I can't understand you're reasoning for not liking them. Since they are essentially the same concept in the same scenario. Just look at Oblivion and Fallout 3. You get the choice between first or third view, but which one would you prefer? Doesn't matter to me, a bullet/sword/laser makes the same sound in any langauge when your enemy is dead on the floor.

Video game commercials that MAKE NO FLIPPIN' SENSE AT ALL!!! The newest PS3 ads, shows random pictures of the games, but in and on the walls of a giant city. I guess they're going for the Urban culture attention again? I guess they like McDonald's approach? "Gee I guess they do understand how we truly live in our Urban society! I guess we'll buy their products!"

However, this style of oddball commericals date back to YEARS. In fact, here's an original Nintendo ad from AUSTRALIA that will give you nightmares....this is the reason WHY the Sega Master System probably sold better in Australia.

11-17 Agreed on all accounts! Number 13 is especially annoying since I am surrounded by those little turds. 15 is a good one as well :)

lol for number 11, Graphics rock for my games, probably one of the reasons I ended up getting PSP games and ports.

also for 17, The commercials that PS3 has now are definitely interesting. I have counted on the scope of about 7 games currently showing in the commercial. I think they are better than those rotten Xbox 360 commercials of random games playing inside of the peoples head. None of my friends even realized what games these were and all just say that the commercial is only for trhe 199 Xbox 360.

Those TV Ads are for Guitar Hero actually, so shame on RedOctane for trying to get inside your brain...

I didnt see the one when they were in your head for Guitar Hero. I remember the Rock Band 2 ones, and it took my friends 20 times to finally realize that the two side tv monitors on the head actually said Rock Band 2. :(

But are they for the game or for the actual 360 system?

OBJECTION

Lost odyssey commercial is awesome XD probably one of the best commercials i've seen

I think there are some exceptions. The original Smash Bros. commercial is something I think we all remember with quite a bit of fondness. I also really enjoyed the Majora's Mask ad campaign, because it made the game seem really epic, important, and sad. More recently, Halo 3 and the Gears of War games had excellent commercials, incredibly touching for what you'd expect from either game.

If you would have asked me 5 years ago, I'd have agreed. Now, not so much...

15. Well you all pretty much know what I'm gonna say about that. ::)

You can't really blame someone for avoiding certain games because of their visual style, and, generally speaking, the visual style is indicative of the type of gameplay the game is going to have. I can't remember who said it before, but the button that makes Mario jump is the same button that makes Master Chief shoot (in theory), the only difference is what visually happens on the screen. What's wrong with wanting to play World at War instead of Tales of Vesperia?

16. I am glad to hear other people enjoy the 3rd-person shooting perspective. I've always been a fan of 3rd-person games vs. 1st person ones, as I find those types of games make it easier to be aware of one's surroundings and makes the action more intense and cinematic. I won't avoid playing a game because its not in 3rd person, but I would say I definitely do prefer it that way.
