You thought $600 was bad...

This link came to my attention via Penny Arcade: http://video-games.search.ebay.com/...chiZQQsaprcloZQQsatitleZQ22playstationQ203Q22

You don't have to click it to see what it is, but you may have to if you are to believe what I am about to say. Due to the system shortage this holiday season people are literally buying these things for over $1000, some people are paying up to two grand! Could you imagine buying a system for $600 and then turning around and making a $1400 profit by reselling it? Absolutely ridiculous...

I just got a report from gamespot.com that Ebay is gonna pull the plug on the Ebay pre-orders for the PS3. Saying "Cant sell something you don't have"

I would save the money. Probably for a car.
Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I know a car right now that I been looking at for quite some time. Grr..I want money!

I don't believe anyone's paying $6000 for a PS3, unless I missed something vital to the topic.
In that eBay link you posted I did a filter on the search and there's one going at $5,999! Plus shipping and handling it'll be over $6,000. I don't even know why someone would even put a price like that on it, the only type of people I can think of buying it is rich folks. Maybe that's the reason why its selling so high?

Wow, that is clinically insane. Honestly, wait like 2 months and you'll literally get it for 1/10 the price.

I don't understand why people are going crazy over console releases, once they get it they either sell it at a higher price or return it cause it got bugs or something. This happened with 360 on its launch day. Camping out in front of a store for a video game is a bit to much as well, this is beyond overboard of desperation.

man... Ebay flooded.... and the prices are dropping. you know what's going to be funny? you being able to snag a Ps3 for $600 w/ extras on Ebay :lol :lol

Bv :hat

Prices seem to already be coming down, which confirms my suspicion: No one really wanted the PS3. Most the people standing in line were trying to make a buck on ebay, so they flooded the market. There's no games for it, it's the only explanation that makes any sense.

I just think people have become smarter or just don't have the money to own one, especially at those insane prices. That's my theory, the real gamers who can afford one get shafted because resellers bought them all.

Yeah. Most people (including ones I know) sold the ones they got to sell at just so they could afford the console.

MM and I were talking about it, and the best time to put one up isn't right after launch, its right before Christmas. People start getting desparate then, and the bids will skyrocket.

I knew it was too good of an idea to be his!

But really, the parents who want to get one for their kids come Christmas will likely pay loads for one. Because if they are buying them a $600 thing for Christmas, odds are they wouldn't mind paying more.
