Isn't it weird to call a game "Einhander" in the US? We had the same with Diablo2, where you have a two-handed sword called "Zweihander". It's weird since "Einhander" is German and translates to "One handed" (or something similar), and "Zweihander" translates to "Two handed". So basically we have a two-handed sword called Two Handed. Great if you don't know German, but stupid if you do.

Um...alright. I dont see why its stupid. And why is it weird to have a game with a german name? I can see why they used it since I believe you man a one person aircraft. The english language, or any other language, has influences from other countries.

I meant they use a german name to make it sound cooler. Release a game called "One handed", and it sounds stupid in the US. Call it "Einhander", and it sounds a lot cooler, especially if you don't speak german. Not that it's a bad thing, of course. Just stating a point. I think. Not quite sure. (too much coffee, too much work, too little sleep.) ;)

Well, have you played Einhander? The ship itself has a large mechanical arm used for grabbing weapons. The inhabitants of Sonne (which just means Sun) upon seeing the craft dubbed it "Einhander" becuase of how it looked (apparently, most of Earth speaks German and the inhabitants of the Moon speak English). The actual name of the craft (well, the standard production series) though, is the Endymion.

The Japanese cover for the game is the same as the title-screen... which is a blue X-Ray of a hand... Einhander (which BTW, can also be translated as "Single handed"). And just so you know, the convention of naming things after what they are is nothing new... for instance, Claymore simply means "Great Sword".

Look at some of the other game titles:
Panzer Dragoon (panzer means stealth [yes, it's also what they dubbed the tanks] and a dragoon is a cavalryman who carries a firearm)
Langrisser (it means Lung Ripper.. what this has to do with the game I have no idea)
Herzog Zwei (herzog = general and zwei = 2)

The Japanese happen to like how German sounds, so they end up using it in numerous game titles.. even if the translation is very basic.

Short version? Idiotville is an actual town in the US. :o So is Dead Mule, and there's a real a lake called "I fish on this side, you fish on the other side and no one fish in the middle". (this is the english translation of the indian name, by the way.) What's a name anyway? :lol

well then maybe I need to try this game. :lol If its capital letter worthy....

anyways, I think Im going to borrow this game from a friend, so I will let you guys know what I think of it soon. I will probably love it though....

The PS3 isn't out yet, but with looks like these that's easy to forget. :o The controls respond very fast and accurate, so you always feel in control. (think Prince of Persia on speed). :D The enemies try to surround you, and don't get me started on the boss battles. (we have to take down two mini-bosses on a ship, then climb quite high to get to the Hydra's head - and even then the head itself fills the entire screen. You are a few inches tall.) :woot And for you guys (and some gals), early in the game you sail to Athens. This is a boring trip, so Kratos (the main character) brought some women with him into bed. They are of course topless (and surprisingly detailed), and you can even do a mini-game with them where you *ahem* tilt a vase next to the bed. It's probably a bad thing, since the women, moans quite a bit over the loss. (or something else.) :o And that's the first thirty minutes. The rest of the game gets better all the time. I suggest you buy this instead of renting it. It's worth it, trust me.
